Do you think it would be correct to say: As an action becomes more socially acceptable . . . there will be an increase in the occurrence of it. I am almost positive - As an Action becomes 'legal' there is an increase in the action. or Do you beleive that . .People are going to do it . . .no matter what .. .and it is probably about the same number of people.. . they just more undercover. Rocket River
I think people like to fit in, so if it becomes "legal" or socially acceptable then more people will do it, as opposed to just doing it no matter what..
The fascination of getting away with doing something not accepted or legal is a thrill. An adrenaline.
Depends on what it is. For example, if all of society is eating poop, it doesn't mean I will. But yes society has an influence on people.
Many Examples. Sorry For Instance - I would think Alcohol consumption increased AFTER PROHIBITION than during it. It became LEGAL and SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE therefore the use increase but more on just Socially Acceptable Think DIVORCE The fact that the social Shame /etc was removed . . . The incident of Divorce increased [I know there are other factors but I think that is one of them ] mar1juana - It is become more and more socially acceptable even if it is not legal . . . I think folx smoke way more Refer today than in the 80s and I KNOW FOLX SMOKED BIG WEED IN THE 80s Rocket River
Do you just want to smoke some weed, Mr. River, sir? But... but... the dots... dots... aren't... even the same... all... the time...
Eh, I think you'll find generation to generation, that things pretty much remain the same as far as social norms. The SPECIFIC ACTION might be different (i.e. kids all dress the same, regardless of what the STYLE is during that time period), but you'll find that all people of similar age groups relate to each other more than previous age groups, and future age groups. Human beings are creatures of habit, and conformity, and it will always remain that way.
