If Yao ends up going down sometime this season do you think we can still contend in the playoffs? What do you think his chances are of finishing the entire season and making it through the playoffs?

    1. No contending.
    2. 100% Yao will finish the season.
50% Yao will play in playoffs because Rockets has only 50% chance making pklayoffs.

Why? I think there's a VERY high chance of us taking the Suns spot. And the Spurs haven't gotten significantly better. Who else has gotten better that missed last year that has a 50% chance of bumping us out? The Grizzlies? Warriors? Kings?

Huh?? If if Yao finishes the season like you said he will, then there is a 99.9%chance the Rockets will make the playoffs.

Yao might hinder this team by in&out the lineup during the season or playing with injury.

If Yao does not play at all, the team might have higher chance making the playoffs.

No you're wrong, without Yao we are a .500 team. Look at last year.

50/50 for both questions we could get destroyed or have a magnificent run

i wouldn't mind if yao sat out till december and focused solely on rehab
what happens in november is not nearly as important june

But November better positions yourself for June. Home court advantage matters.

Yao must stay healthy and return to at least 75% (maybe more) of his former self AND some key players must elevate their game (Martin and Brooks especially). If Lowry gives consistent shooting and C-Bud hits his stride, yeah, maybe. I think it will be an entertaining year, but I have limited confidence that we are going to scare the Lakers. I wish.

I agree Yao will give us more wins than last season and we will make the playoffs with Yao but without him we are at least 10 games above .500. Think about it, we only had Kmart,Hill, and Jeffries for half a season. Now we have all our new guys and they will play a whole season with the rockets, not just half. We can still make the playoffs without Yao.
