Since i am not that good with computer, figured i would ask u computer folk out there

i just got a new Apple Ipod and need to get my mp3s from my personal computer on it. however, my computer sucks and i figured i would another computer in the house, which as a Firewire connection, to transport the files. Both computers are sharing a cable connection with a router. i was wondering what i needed to do in order to transfer the files

thanks very much and any help would be appreciated

Let me see if I'v got this right. You have the follwing:

    an iPod

A PC with no FW port that has all your music.

A PC with a FW port that has no music.

Both PC's are connected to a cable modem via a router.

    Is that right?

If so, you may be able to assign an IP address to each PC (10.0.1.1 & 10.0.1.2) to set up a tiny little network among them and then share the files to the PC with the FW port...

I think if you have Windows XP on both of them, there is a network creation wizard that is very simple to use.
