I got my property tax bill in the mail last month (I don't escrow), but I still haven't received my HISD tax bill yet. The HISD should come seperately from the PT bill, right? Is there somewhere I can view and/or pay it online? Is it due the same time as the PT bill?

HISD doesn't collect taxes any longer.

They closed their tax office last year, and now all taxes are in one bill from Harris County. There should be an HISD or School District line on your bill.

Didn't you notice how the total amount of the bill was double the amount of last year? That's why...they rolled two property tax bills into one.

To tell you the truth, I didn't really notice. Guess I'll take a closer look at my bill when I get home...

At any rate, this is GOOD news for me if that amount is the only amount I have to pay!! I think my tax refund might be more than my tax bill this year!

Sweet! Definitely check it out when you get home, but if you got it from Harris County (Paul Bettancourt), I'm 99.9999% certain there is an HISD line on it, and it is probably the largest amount.

    Congrats!

I love it when this happens. You look into the bank account and go, "Gee how do I have extra money"

and then *BOOM!!!* and it's spent.

Does anyone know if CFISD does the same?

I have both my municipal and county taxes, but no school taxes.

If you didn't pay it before the 31st how can you get credit for your tax refund?

i know spring branch ISD's bill is not included in my county tax bill. i'm guessing it would be the same with Cy Fair.

Thanks. I just called CFISD and they are going to "re-send" my statement.

Just moved in in November so having to do quite a bitof paperwork... change of ownership with HCAD, protesting, etc...

As far as I know it is only HISD that has consolidated the two.

I think that when HISD moved out of their HQ in Greenway Plaza, they decided to shut down the tax office and got an agreement to have the county collect for them. Probably saves HISD some $$$.

I'm just talking about what I'm getting back from work in 2006. I have tons of deductions (thanks to my band) and I kept track of EVERYTHING this year.

If you go to www.hcad.org you can view your property tax bill on line. You can also view anyone's property tax bill online for those who live in Harris County.
