I'm not sure about this, but how many quad doubles did Dream get 1 or 2? I would appreciate someone's help on this.

Actually, He should have 2 quadruple doubles. During a Warriors game that same year he got the quadruple double, the tapes showed he didn't get credit for a block, rebound, or assist that would have put him over the top for a quadruple double So, in all honesty, he should be the only player in league history with TWO quadruple doubles.

There have been four in NBA history, as far as I know.

Nate Thurmond, Chicago v. Atlanta 10/18/74
    22 pts, 14 reb, 13 ass, 12 bks.

Alvin Robertson, San Antonio v. Phoenix 2/18/86
    20 pts, 11 reb, 10 ass, 10 stls.

Hakeem Olajuwon, Houston v. Milwaukee 3/29/90
    18 pts, 16 reb, 10 ass, 11 bks.

David Robinson, San Antonio v. Detroit 2/17/94
    34 pts, 10 reb, 10 ass, 10 bks.

I am pretty sure it was the game immediately preceding the real quadruple double game when that occurred. As you stated he was one thing away (i think it was one assist). The Rockets tried to persuade the NBA to allow them to add the phantom assist (supposedly on the tape, but that was according to the Rockets), but the NBA would not allow it. The official scorer should have added it during the game and left it up to the NBA to subtract it.

When Clyde played with us he missed a quad dub by 1 assist.

I believe it was the first game of the year against the Kings. There was 6 minutes left in the game and NO ONE could hit a shot to give it to him. Not even Bullard could make one.

    SamCassell,

Actually, there are 5 quadruple doubles.

Jason Kidd, Nov 17th, 2000 vs New York
    18 pts, 12 rb, 10 asst and 14 to

I remember that game. On Clyde's last pass Sam Mack missed a three from the corner, that would have given Drexler the quad.

If you want to allow to's for a quadruple double then a lot of other players have gotten them. As far as the missed quad dub by Dream if I remember correctly it was against the Lakers. I could be wrong though. I think he was one assist short. It was two or three weaks before his real quadruple double.

Did I ... actually ... forgot to use a smiley face, figuring everyone remembers the dubious quadruple double.

How about 3 quadruple doubles, all in the same year? In the game before the one in which he got a quadruple double, he originally had been given a quad double, I think. But later the decision was revoked because of a ugh... "recount". He came back and got it the next game anyway. [IMG]

... somebody verify that for me; I think it's right

DoD -- you are correct. Those are the only two. The one he was robbed on was Golden State. He came back and got a 'real' one the next game though! Amazing.

I thought it was Willis who missed the 3 pointer that could have given Drexler the QD. Anyways Wilt Chamberlain claims to have had dozens of those, same goes for the Big O but they didnt count steals and blocks back then. Wilt also claims to have had a triple quad double where he had 100pts, 10+rebs, 10+ast and 17blks. He may have been lying about it though, thats probably not the only stat he has embelished. [IMG]

It is probably that Robertson had a bunch.

He could just happen to have a game with alot of steals after he got his averages in everything else and he would already have a Quad-Double.
