Failing while I'm trying this case hardly poses the same consequences as screwing up a surgery. $500 fine if I lose.

I just want to see exactly what all evidence they have and then make a decision about changing my plea and trying to get the fine reduced, or going ahead with the case and perhaps getting a lawyer.

Well, I think you're getting into some problem areas by asking people on a BBS what to include in a discovery request. For one thing, people who aren't attorneys aren't allowed to give legal advice.

If nothing else, there should be a public defender to help, you'd think. Possibly a legal aid group.

spoken like a true lawyer!! COME WORK WITH ME! It would get you in Houston and we'd have a blast. I can't pay you right now, but it would be awesome anyway!

whitemagic -- you can get yourself into more trouble than you know with discovery or lack of response thereto.

I think that only applies to people giving advice in the course of their duties at work....like a court clerk.

Granted....most of us are probably posting from work. I doubt there's a law that prohibits a non-attorney from giving legal advice to their buddies. Of course, there's a common sense law about giving too much credence to said advice.

Yeah, I don't think I'll even need law school from hanging out with RM95's Girl and all her friends. :D

Actually, I'm still planning on going to law school starting in 2004. Once I'm done, my goal is to move to Houston. See ya in 2007!!!
