Those boys are only peripherally aware of life beyond the Potomac, unless it is 'truly' national ala MJ or Kobe or Tiger.

They are less watchable than last November's Rox!

    True.

It does seem like PTI has a lack of respect for the Rockets though, much more so than most other national media outlets. But I have seen many complementary articles on the Rockets and the moves they have made this summer.

I know it seems to be taboo for media members to admit that they are a fan of this team or that team for fear of being labled a homer and discredited...but is it really wrong to assume most of these people really do privately cheer for some teams and against others? I think most of us here know how you feel about the Rockets but do you think that bias sometimes flavors the oppinions of many members of the media? I know if I was a writter I just could not bring myself to write anything positive about L.A. or Kobe.

Bah, it's all east coast media propaganda.

What gets me is that they pick Denver, which is even more unproven than the Rockets. I mean, at least pick a team that has gone deep like Dallas or the Kings if you are going to omit us.

At any rate, it won't matter soon. All haters will be on our bandwagon by the end of the first month of the season.

I think he meant the 3rd best player.

I wouldn't place Stro as the 3rd best. IMO, his role will enhance the playability of those around him.

What Kelly is trying to say in a very subtle way is that most sports journalists are ignorant when it comes to commenting on teams not within their local region and as a result they depend on general statements to make their points. It's his nice way of telling us to ignore Wilbon because he obviously doesn't knwo what he's talking about and is only going along with Denver because 1) he has no clue about the Rockets and 2) he is going along with the trend. Once the Rockets pickup more press, PTI will probably switch to Rox as being #2

I was thinking the exact same thing...Denver's like not even close to the Rockets now...neither were they last year.
