Hey guys I am trying to figure out what to do with my PS3 having wireless connection problems.

My signal strength is always 100% and the internet around my house works perfectly fine, it is just the PS3 when wireless is always laggy online.

I have called U-verse and Sony and still have not been able to fix the problem, sony said to change the ports or something and I still don't seem to have any luck...

Anyone on Clutchfans experience this or know what to do?

BTW the router is near the PS3 so that is not causing the problem...

    Thanks

Yeah, everything is up to date, I don't understand why it's not working.

I have always connected wireless with no problems before..

Try resetting the modem (power off for 30 seconds). Works for me...

My ps3 is 25 feet from my uverse hub and it always shows 1 bar less than the max. It drives me nuts.

Mine drops off from time to time as well.

At&t's internet blows. I had a lot of issues with them. I went to Comcast for internet only.

Did you do an "automatic" configuration, or a "manual" configuration?
 This has NOTHING to do with a local wireless connection, sir.

Do you have any wireless speaker systems around the house? sometimes they screw up g band wifi.

I hate At&T's routers. You should invest in a N router. It will be great for games too.

Funny you say that because I had Comcast internet and it blows. Dropped service during peak hours everytime. I've been with AT&T for well over a year and have not had any drops. I guess it just depends on location.

If the router is "near" the PS3, why aren't you using a wired connection?

I have noticed over the last week or so that the PS3 will randomly drop connection several times for no apparent reason,

It's on wireless, yes, but it sits literally directly next to the U-Verse router.

I had not had that problem before, so I am actually wondering if there may be some issue with Sony's updates or something, or something on their end somehow.

I also have nto pulled the power plug yet, so will try that too.

mine works fine.. try a wired connection and see if it solves the problem. It could be ATT's crappy wireless router or just crappy service..

Have you done the connection test on the ps3? If it's NAT type 3 then that could explain it.

Turn off your media server if its on, turn off any torrent programs if they are running, make sure you have wireless-G enabled, not B. That's it off the top of my head.

Because the ethernet is connected to the cable box as well so I don't want to keep unplugging and plugging back in every time...

Btw how can I make it wireless G enabled as someone mentioned...

    Wait what?

So you wont connect it because you don't have another ethernet cable?

Wireless-G can be changed in the router settings page... what is the brand of the router?

Usually the router page is (http://192.168.1.1) and then you change it under the Wireless settings. But most likely, your router is on mixed which makes it on Wireless-G.

Also, how old is your router? Sometimes routers wear out... especially some of the Linksys and D-Link ones over the last 2 years (or I've just had bad luck buying 7 routers and all of them being bad in the last two years).
