My PS3 was working fine with no issues since I purchased it about 2 yrs ago. Yesterday my nephew was playing on it and it was fine. I leave and come home a few hours later and it will no longer read DVDs Blue Rays or Games. It turns on fine and everything else works but you pop in a dvd blue ray or game and nothing happens. It doesnt even recognized that a disc is there. Anyone have any experience with this? I have the bigger one pictured below.

Sounds like your nephew did something he shouldn't have to it. If it was working fine when you were there and a few hours later its not then yeah, I would have to say your nephew prob droped it, spilled water in it or something. I would just say, if you can't fix it you are going to have pay 150 to fix it.

Try one of those DVD LENS cleaning discs. I had similar problems with my DVD player where it wouldn't recognize discs at all (not even music CDs, try one of those, too), and it ended up being that there was dust in or around the laser.

If it cannot read ANY type of disc, you're going to have to get a new reader and $hell out $ome ca$h to $ony. :(

Yeh I was kind of pissed off about it at 1st because I figured he might have done something to cause it to eff up. I mean how is it working just fine then a few hours later wont read anything. Im over it ...Sony will fix it for 150. In the end I dont care much because I dont have time to play video games or watch much tv anyway.
