I'm getting a free PS3 for signing up with my current cable company, and I've never had one before. What are some must-have games and accessories. I saw MadMax talking about shooting up zombies with his kids in another thread.......something like that sounds appealing.
My bad...........it was from our wireless provider in Calgary--rogers. We've signed up for a lot of new stuff in the past month or so, and they all run together in my head. Cell service sucks here.........makes me miss AT&T dearly. The least they could do for what they charge is give us a PS3.

Congrats on your new ps3! There's just so many things to do, like shooting up zombies in Left 4 Dead 2 and destroying aliens in Halo Reach. Better yet, exploring the vastness of Fable 3. The possibilities are endless.. The joy of ps3!
Start on the "Uncharted" series. So good! By the time you're done with the first two games, the third will be out in November. I like the NBA 2k series for sports. If you're looking for a shooting FPS game, I recommend waiting for the new "Battlefield" or picking up a cheap used copy of "Black Ops", since you can kill zombies on there as well. Hope that helps! <iframe width="560" height="345" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/l4fahAdNHpM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
It actually arrived at my door a few minutes after I posted my request...........160 GB with one dual shock controller. I guess that is as basic as it gets. Anything I should get to go with it.........controllers/etc.
What kind of games are you interested in? If you don't like platformers it won't do to recommend Ratchet and Clank. Uncharted 1 and 2 and Arkham Asylum are must plays regardless.
This is a very basic thing to do to your PS3 if you want to turn it into a media machine, which is what I use mine for 90% of the time. 1.) Hardwire the machine to your router with an ethernet cable. 2.) Download TV shows / movies etc to your computer hard drive 3.) Download PS3 Media Server http://www.ps3mediaserver.org/ Enjoy instant streaming.
I have gamefly and finished nearly 60 games so far and honestly the best games I played is Uncharted 2, MGS4 (only if you played first 3) and Red Dead Redemption Uncharted 2 is a must have, the story mode only takes 11-14 hours but the multiplayer and coop are very alive and a blast to play RDR has a great story mode and is the most expensive game made ($100,000,000) unfortunately, the controls are not responsive enough for good multiplayer but the story is a good 20-35 hours long MGS4 will make no sense at all unless you played mgs1-3 and really care about the story, the game has maybe 8-10 hours of cutscenes and 4-5 hours of gameplay but it digs deep into philosophy and the horrors of war
Well, Uncharted is a given. Play HEAVY RAIN, gives charted a run for its money. Maybe my fav ps3 game but Uncharted is close
Was his response trolling...........I honestly don't know. I'm about to turn 45. I challenge anyone to Tetris........on the old Nintendo NES. However, that was really the last game I ever played to any extent. This is gonna be really new to me.
Great game, but it isn't for everyone. Without spoiling too much it starts off really slow but once you get past the initial story set up part it's addictive.
I feel there's only a little chance you'll like this game, because I do think Japanese style RPGs is somewhat of a niche market, but Valkyria Chronicles is my favorite game for the PS3.
