Make that Kenny Thomas. Ex-Rocket. Not Kenny Taylor, although he has also played at Fonde.

I went about 2-3 times last year. It was good times, don't expect to see NBA type basketball, its the middle between a NBA game and street ball. Good place to check out some good games up close. They are pretty cool with you afterwards, signing autographs and taking pics with the players.

One awesome game I remembered was when Josh Smith and JR Smith were going at each other. Both of them were guarding each other, JR drained about 3-4 3s in a row, Josh drained a few and had a few dunks. Their respective teams gave them the ball everytime down and ISOed them to do whatever they want. The crowd basically went to And1 crowd mode with everybody standing up and shouting "OOOOHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"

Funny story, after one of the last game ended, my cousin and I went to the bathroom, and Josh Smith was just there changing his shorts and people passing by him like he's nothing, thats just how comfortable it is out there with the players. I've said whats up to Damon Stoudimere, TJ Ford, and Damon Jones, very cool cats.

One thing I'd like to add, its VERY HOT in there. Dress comfortably. Especially during the dog days of summer in full effect.

Good point on the heat. One other thing I forgot to mention. Bring a towel or something to sit on. After a while, the bleachers become very uncomfortable.

They have a good sized parking lot, so free parking, pretty much right in front of the gym. I did get my car keyed once while I was down there though. So be careful.

Interesting. Kind of makes me think it would be hard for a normal person to be able to even hit the backboard against someone like KG in one on one. Even Lamar Odom might be tough.

Lol, not really. They just laugh at Yao sitting on the bench because he's never playing.

Yeah, I caught both games. The first game was lopsided. Mike Harris was on the winning team. He looked like he was just playing around. The second game was better. On one team, Stephen Jackson, was semi hooping; on the other team, TJ Ford and Damon Stoudamire were really hooping. TJ Ford was tearing it up on the offensive end. Nothing really spectacular.

Dave, if your going, let me know, we can can meet up. I'll be there on wed for sure.

I went last night. First game was like a 30-40 win for Mike Harris' team. It wasn't because of Mike Harris though there was this guy named Brandon Gay that tore it up. Second game was competitive and more entertaining. The first half some guy named Frank Benson who was on Stephen Jackson's team had like 36 points and was tearing TJ Ford up. First half TJ Ford and Damon Stoudemire stunk it up. Stephen Jackson passed up a wide open break away dunk in favor of setting up his team mate and some of the guys from the first game started ripping him from the sideline. He responded to them "I still got 3 months of vacation left".

Second half TJ Ford stopped guarding Frank Benson, but that team stopped going to Frank so they fell behind and I think he ended up with like 40. Stephen Jackson upped his intensity up the second half and got a little made a few times at his teammates, but then you could see on his face this isn't to serious and would give them a pat on the a$$. TJ Ford took over for his team in the second half with a barrage of 3 pointers. After he hit so many 3 pointers Stephen Jackson then started guarding Ford. TJ then laid off the 3's and was flying past Jackson. He was just way to fast for Jackson.

Game ended with TJ Ford and Damon Stoudemire's team winning by about 4. Stoudemire didn't do much. Jackson had a couple of slams, but for the most part was taking way too many 3 pointer's. TJ Ford tore it up the 2nd half of the game and ended with somewhere around 35-40 points.

After the game TJ Ford was nice enough to take a picture with my nephews, but Damon was a prick. I guess he was tired of taking pictures with people, because lots of people were just walking up next to him and taking pictures. But I asked him Damon can my boys get a picture with you. He said yes and then proceeded to ignore us. I finally said come on boys this guy doesn't seem to be fan friendly. My 12 year old nephew who loves the NBA, but because of his age never saw Damon in his prime continued with "well he doesn't get any minutes anyway". I thought that was classic. Posting pictures shortly.
