I think this is great. Russia is an extremely powerful nation and I believe that if we can work together, the war on terror and the world economy will be better for it. Here is a comment from a Russian in this newsweek article that I believe sums up how Russia and the rest of the world is starting to view America now that we have a competent person in the white house: "President Obama has already made even the most angry anti-American politicians in the Russian Parliament soften up, just because he is a younger, more professional, intelligent, and sensible leader than Bush. Most Russian politicians have great expectations that his visit will put an end to the Cold War mentality in Russian politics." http://www.newsweek.com/id/205463/page/1
Unlikely... DAYBOOK 9:00 a.m. The President meets with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and has a working breakfast 11:15 a.m. The President delivers commencement address at ceremonies for the 2009 graduating class of the New Economic School 1:40 p.m. The President meets one-on-one with President Medvedev 3:25 p.m. The President and President Medvedev meet with Parallel Business Summit 5:35 p.m. The President meets with Russian opposition leaders
Link to the 'President Putin' blunder... http://www.reuters.com/article/poli...Type=RSS&feedName=politicsNews&rpc=22&sp=true Maybe he should have sent Hillary -- you know, someone who is a little more qualified? How sad is that, when a former First Lady is more qualified on foreign policy... just pathetic... but gosh darn it, he's so hip!
He caught himself in mid-blunder and corrected the mistake. Not much of an issue. I'm glad they might like us a little better because of our regime change. All that's left now is a Russian regime change so we can like them better.
LMAO that's just a slip of the tongue with a quick correction. That isn't as you say, a rookie mistake. This is all you have? Weak.
Remember folks, during the Democratic primary debates, Tim Russert asked Hillary and Obama who the President of Russia was, and NEITHER of them could answer. This is fact. Hillary then said 'Med-oh I can't pronounce it'. Obama couldn't even get that far. Just embarrassing... <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Fi90GG7sams&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Fi90GG7sams&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Good grief, I'm embarrassed that representing Russia is an ex-KGB spy, and representing the US is a guy who is really really good at reading a teleprompter. Just sad.
This is especialy important to me. My GF is Russian, and, well, her dad doesn't like me because I'm American. And he has never even met me.
