umm, new coach, yaos sophmore year, steve francis finally getting it, eric p., new unis, new arena, new enthusiasm, all those natioanal t.v ganes. Whats going to be so negitive thall make us be worse than last year??? Your the first person to i heard say that the rockets will deprove next year.
looking at the schedual?? We played the same teams last year the same amount of times.... So whats diff than last year except our suped up team...
What is different about our schedule compared to last year? Last year we lost so many games from last second shots and lazy defense, and the players not being mature enough. This coming season we should be an improved team. 50 games seems like a reasonable number.
What's different is back-to-backs (which are actually fewer than last year), 3 games in 5 days, the "blocking" of the season, and the when teams are being played. An example is those two games against the Spurs relatively early in the season. IMHO, it is much more likely to be two losses. Ending the season with 11 of 16 on the road hurts tremendously. That could easily be THE nail in the coffin.
I never said the Rockets would DEPROVE talent wise. Just that the level of competition has increased. We got a new coach. Big deal everyone else got major free agents, and the last time i checked it was the players who play and not the coaches. We managed to beat Sac and San An last year along with LA and Minnesota.. but if u look at their new roseters.. compared to ours. They are stacked... Which will account for more losses. .. No matter how great a coach is I doubt he can make the players who don't want to play D actually play D. Moochie and Francis will always be terrible defenders because they show no effort. Maybe they will grow up... Then i'll give us a few more wins.. but you guys asked for my predictions and I gave it to you... not trying to start controversy
Really? Where have you been? I'm thinking 47-35. 6 or 7 seed. Out in the 1st round 4-2. However, 2004 will be our last year of NOT being a factor in the West.
last time i checked, rudy had no game plan, and the rockets wre lost for the past 4 years. Now with a coach who has the smarts to run offense and defense and with our talented players, dont be suprised if the rockets make an impact in the western conf.
francis gives no effort... hmm must be a Suns fan... Thats why many people know him as a workaholic and always is at practice first and always talks about playoffs... And another thing. You must of not been watching many rocket games. When steve defends he doesnt play his guy straight up.. Instead he leans and tries to go for the steal which leads the opposing pg to go thru steve, or steve tries to "help out to much" by leaving the opposing pg open and defend another opposing player... leaving the opposing pg open. that is why many pgs can go thru steve's defenses. its not becasue steve tries too little its because he tries to hard.
Been sayin since we got JVG that we'd get 50+ NO DOUBT! We're better than the Wolves, we can be 4th or 5th seed but not lower than 6th.

90 win season!!!! Sweep all 5 rounds of the play-offs!!!!!!!!!!! ANOTHER CHAMIONSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROCKETS ALL THE WAY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Isn't it a bit early; lets at least see who our team is and see them play SOME games.
Besides being a Rockets fan, I 'm also a long time Knicks follower. Speak of the devil, look who's our new new coach. JVG is the perfect dose of discipline, inspiration, and education this team needs. And I think with all of the losing the Rockets have gone through in the past couple of seasons, maybe us fans are starting to underestimate the incredible amount of young talent that this team possess. With the correct leader and system in place, this team IS dangerous and NO ONE CAN DENY THAT. And what make it worse for other team, is that we are now a true dark horse that no one expects to win and everyone sorta writes off now. Dallas was the same way in 2000 as they came out of no where to make the playoffs and take down Utah in the first round. Look at them now. Its has to happen some time for the Rockets. It cant be like this forever. Now's the time. This will be our BREAKOUT SEASON. 54-28.... 5th seed in west. And for any inquiring minds out there..................Here's my outlook for the Knicks FIRE LAYDEN or become the Clippers!
