Um, what? This is nonsense. Christ said, “It would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to obtain the kingdom of heaven” when a rich man who was a would-be follower wouldn’t donate his wealth to the poor and follow him. Christ, in his life, came from modest origins and didn’t use his influence to obtain worldly things. He lived modestly and with great humility served others before himself. I very much doubt he would be thrilled with people commercializing and monetizing his message so they could live ostentatiously while so many of their followers lived in financial insecurity if not outright poverty. You don’t need to live in poverty but you should live modestly as Christ did. Seeing evangelists in Lambos is outright disgusting.
I figured that and was not challenging you just kind of mixing myself. not particularly religious myself more spiritual than religious.
I do question it but mega churches are nothing new and some of the most beautiful architecture has been built because of it. So I am torn.
The Wealth is not a problem for me. . . . . It is 1. The Source of the wealth 2. How the wealth is used 1. The idea of Grannies on fixed incomes giving their last dollars to the church that is bothersome. I hate that the Pastor makes like 100 times more than his parishoners. 2. I have a problem with the parishoners going to the church and being turned away. Having so much money in the church but not using it to help the community/whole. Rocket River
I had a friend who lived a couple houses down from Ed Young on a street called Kensington Court. According to HCAD they dont live there anymore (undoubtedly upgraded to something swankier - they were just the single church back then) but current appraised value is about $2,000,000.
