good luck manny. take care of yourself and your family -- in the end, it's just a job -- and not one you particularly like from the sounds of things. Though change is often unsettling -- especially you're not the one initiating it, and it affects others too.
Manny, I sincerely wish you all the best. Just be mentally prepared that IF it happens that they let you go (and to be honest, it does sound somewhat likely), while it may be very tough in the short term, view it as something good for you in the long term - do not let it crush you. You deserve better and you will find something better, I really hope that for you.

Don't jump to conclusions... but be prepared. Have confidence that it will work out for the best. Keep your nose to the grindstone, your ears to the ground on the job front, and things will look up soon. These were the most applicable clichés I decided not to try to avoid. I don't believe in prayer but I will wish you the best. Also my advice is to be proactive. You make your own luck and that can either be at your current job or through finding something new. If you felt after two months that it was not a great fit then perhaps it is better to have this happen and light a fire under you to get something better. Otherwise I have seen too many people stay with something they hate just because it is there and less scary than starting over again. Also, when looking for a new job, be sure to direct potential employers to your work on this site. In fact I would put a link to your profile at the top of your resume. Under the header of osmething like "Internet Life Experience" or "Artificial Interpersonal Communication Experience and Training". Then, to make it even more personal, list some hobbies and interests and include your favorite songs released on the 5th day of November of everyyear since 1967. Hiring gold, Manny!
Gosh, I am sorry to hear that Manny, I remember when you were contemplating taking this job, even though it was a longer drive, El Paso, I believe right? Either way, can you go back to your previous place of employment and tell them you would like to come back? Man, this sucks, also, it can not hurt for you to see an attorney RIGHT now while you are under their alleged probation. Did they give you a course to "Cure" ? Most of the time when you are put on probabation they have to outline a way for you to get on track...did they? DD
I went through something similar last year. Ended up getting fired and now I have a much better job. It'll work out.
Sorry to hear this Manny. This is tough, especially at this time of year and in this job market. Just get your work done and play whatever role they want you to until you are able to line up something else. As my mom always told me when dealing with difficult people, "Kill em with kindness." Yesterday wasn't bad but a long day and today will probably be too. However, it's this way to avoid working over the 4 day weekend. I talked with my manager right before I left and took the high road and told him that I am really wanting it to work out. He told me that it was gut-wrenching for him to have do what he did and that there has never been a personality conflict between us. Now he might be snowing me here but I do think he is being honestly sincere. His boss (my boss's boss) is a very demanding person and I feel is the ultimate reason why this is not working out for me. The project I am working on is somewhat complicated and my manager said that if I can continue to do well and get it done without any issues, that it would go a long way in the eyes of his boss. I feel sorry for my manager - he has 3 small kids (8, 5, and 2) and he probably wishes he was somewhere else. He just can't find another job that is paying him what he is making where he is now. With all this being said, I am still wanting to leave as soon as possible. The environment is such that it is a sweatshop atmosphere. I will stay there as long as I have to & hopefully I can leave eventually on my terms and not theirs. Thanks for the prayers - it is helping and please continue to keep praying.
wow manny. it must not be easy for u to have to do what ur doing. its very commendable that ur doing it anyway for the sake of those depending on u. ive been in ur position but i had it easy cos it was just me. i didnt bother listening to the threats n stuck to my guns which ultimately gave them the easy way out to boot me. i started posting in this forum around the time u started, n id like to think i kind of know u, at least the poster. before, u were one of the heaviest poster. i think ur a genuinely nice guy, very passionate abt things, u love being in love, u love ur friends, ur family, and u love clutchfans. we're all rooting for the best for u n urs.
MAN RAM! I quit my job back in March after getting put on all kinds of steps. Granted I dont have a wife and kids, but I'm living off my savings and have a sugar mama. I dont remember the point I came here with. I did have a dinner party last night. I made broccoli quiche, chimmichuri, panko buck buck nuggets and appletinis. I woke up at 5am wondering where all the guests went. I hope I didnt make an ass of myself in my downward motion. TO THE FRIDGE TO SEE WHATS LEFT!
