Yeah, this is our last day here. Maybe that'll be The Meal.

But I swear, there is no bad food here. Every meal has been incredible. At our concierge's advice, we went to eat at some place called My Tony or Tony's or whatever, across the highway from Barcelo in Mismaloya. We were off the beaten path. We were in a third floor open air restaurant overlooking the jungle where they filmed Predator, eating shrimp kebob and red snapper. Yum yum.

Not a dessert guy, but coffee+tequila is UNDERRATED in general. One of my favorite alcoholic drinks and one of the few cocktails I bother to drink.

Never been a fan of Posole, so I'm not able to give any recommendations.

Don't lie, you're basically a Sex and the City cast member.

Underrated, laid back place. But not TOO laid back like those taquerias that take the leftover "fajitas" and chips that people don't eat and reheat them to serve to the next customers.... Didn't realize they have a pozole. Will try.

    We'll try it. Many thanks.

It's always fun to discover things with my wife. PV is awesome and she wasn't expecting to enjoy it so much. And the look on her face when she tried the pozole verde....yeah, we'll track some down in Houston.

I've heard great things about that place, and the menu looks awesome. It's on my must-try list for the next time I'm in H-town.

@ROXTXIA Not sure if I'm reading it right, but pozole is only on their daily brunch menu, not on the dinner one.

That might be right. I always go on Sat or Sun when they have the Enfrijoladas con Tasajo. One of the best genuine Mexico City dishes in the City.

We tried the pozole verde in Houston at Soto's. It was good but of course didn't touch the version we had in PV. Damn shame but we'll keep looking.

    The picture above looks interesting.

one of the beaches there is all gay dudes. playa sillas azules (blue chairs). that was the first one we went to and quickly realized we were surrounded by dudes in bikinis and skimpy thongs.

must be something about the state of jalisco b/c guadalajara is pretty gay too.

i used to backpack around mexico once a year. we took a bus from austin to puerto vallarta (about 24 hours) - took about a week to get there, stopping in nuevo laredo, monterrey, zacatecas and guadalajara along the way. on the way to guadalajara i had to sit next to this dude who kept hitting on me. before i sat there he broke my seat so it was stuck in the recline position and he kept trying to get me to lay back. i was reading for a bit and when i finally did lean back he put his head on my shoulder. i pushed him away and gave him the meanest look i could and he left me alone after that...i guess that was my #yotambien moment.

as far as pozole, i make a pretty good verde one with roasted tomatillos. i prefer verde.
