I have Microsoft Office 2003 installed on my new computer that also has Windows Vista as the operating system. I've been trying to create photo slideshows using powerpoint. I have approx 99 slides, with at least 75 of those including pictures. Earlier this morning i opened my file and played the show slide without a problem. Now when i go to play the slideshow my picture files do not show up. When i get out of the slideshow program and just look at the individual slides each picture is just a box with a red x. My links are current, the files are saved on the hard drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The file is 256mb but memory shouldn't be an issue. My computer has a 2.4 ghz processor with 2 gig of RAM. My older computer was 1.7ghz with 512 ram and i never had an issue. I had a 400 page slideshow and it worked fine every time.
Is it possible the folder the pics were in somehow got moved/renamed? That would be the only reason I could think of that you get the red X's, that the paths to those pictures are incorrect.
Ditto, that's definitely my first thought, though I didn't post it at first because I kinda assumed you must know that...
The files haven't been moved. The paths are fine. It's actually worked fine all day. I'm not sure what's going on, which is why i'm thinking its Vista related. I've never had this problem until now.
A red X in powerpoint just means it's a memory issue. you'll get that sometimes when you put too much stuff on the clip board for PPT. Just do a compleyte shutdown and it should work fine
