Newbiehad, post counts have been going since (ironically enough) February 4th (or was it the 3rd?), 1999. That would be 29 months, not 18. I also like the Feb 99 next to my name. It means more than post count, because it's something you can't accumulate. Silk's got a good point about meaningless post counts, but really the situation is much better than it used to be. Eliminating the "Thousand Post Club" helped. ------------------ I'm so amazingly cool you could keep a side of meat in me for a month. I am so hip that I have difficulty seeing over my pelvis.
Couldn't have said it any better ------------------ "For there is nothing either good or bad, thinking makes it so." - William Shakespeare (1564-1616), Hamlet
Rather then post count look at when that person registered, that is a more accurate accounting of the veteran contingency. DaDakota ------------------ If you like RTS games, check out this one. www.frontierwars.com coming soon to a PC near you.
hmmmmm.... ------------------ My doctor says I am bipolar. I am going to get a second opinion. I have never had intimate desires for polar bears.
My post count has slowed down dramatically it seems ------------------ Shane "Save Our Rockets" "Life without basketball in Houston........without an arena that is what it will be"
And get used to yours restarting. No more Digital Anvil (DA), and no more Dakota (condolensces, man), so what better time for a new name!! Plus you lost the bet like the rest of us. I'm lobbying for this rename: FeverBitch Another combination of your company name and a dog, plus it rhymns with your new company, FeverPitch. Now I just have to get an OK from Clutch to allow the dog use of the name "b****" to apear in a poster's moniker. If you are nice, maybe it will just be FeverDog
I don't see where I agreed to change my name. Plus the season has not even started yet. DaDakota is my handle on all sites, even my companies, so I would be hesitant to change it at all. DaDakota - Staying the same !!! ------------------ If you like RTS games, check out this one. www.frontierwars.com coming soon to a PC near you.
I don't know about you guys but some of this stuff is getting real lame. I wish Clutch just turned off the counter. Something I would rather have would be a respect counter showing what your peers think of you. That would weed out some of these stupid posts real quick. ------------------ "We need to FOCASS".... Akeem Olajuwon
Wasn't me...... ------------------ My doctor says I am bipolar. I am going to get a second opinion. I have never had intimate desires for polar bears.
poor poor DaDakota, he has a really important moniker with so much history, and he wants to maintain his prescious "accurate accounting of the veteran contingency". Man, you lost your bet. No reneging. I asked you flat out, and you said that you were joining the bet. Everyone saw it! although you even "edited" the day after, that is on record. No one reneges a big BBS bet without repurcussions. If you don't change, I will rally all the bettors to call you FeverPussyCat, instead of FeverBitch...anyhow. You cat lover! hmmmm, I wonder if the bettors will shorten that to FeverPussy....you know how they like to modify nicks for the fun of it. So be a sport and pick a new name with one of the Crisco winners. Besides, Heypartner is my name at all my entertainment sites, too. Behad was too. CriscoKidd has had that nick since childhood, I'm sure. Plus, it is only for a season. You get DaDakota back next April.
No kidding. That Achebe is a forceful type. What next? Will he call him a peepeehead? ...but then I'm too much of a coward to get in on nick changing bets. ------------------ "Yes, it's true. Sam, it couldn't have been that long. It was about 6 months after Clutch started using the new board and everyone had to re-register. That was Feb 15, 1999 (the day you registered, I re-registered a couple of days later). I remember it was about 6 months later that they showed up. ------------------ It looks like a veteran can Be had.
I used to be registered on the old board (before we changed to this format) as Astro The Rocket (man, was that a dumb nick or what?). I guess that was back around '98-early '99. I didn't visit too often because the lockout was still going on and it was pretty boring around here. Then Clutch decides to change the whole board around the time the whole thing was resolved and we got Quitten. By the time I finally decided to post again I discovered we had to re-register. I lost 3 whole months for that one mistake! ARRGGGHHH!!! All that respect gone in an instant! Dammit! ------------------ The season's over, but the 'Stros have started. Guess I'm still gonna be nursing that keg...
The only thing that matters is the number of posts you have. Everything else is secondary. You're all living a fantasy. muhahahahaha... ------------------ "Yes, it's true.
