With so many people calling for Tmac to be traded, I wanted to see who they realistically think we could get and why a trade would benefit us. Mods lock this up if you think it should be in the Random Trade thread. Please, no trade Tmac for a bag of peanuts replies. And also no Tmac for Kobe or Lebron replies cuz even though salaries work, we know Tmac's value right now is pretty low. My first potential trade is Tmac and Hayes to Miami for Marion and Blount. Why Miami does this: Marion's numbers like Tmacs this year are way down. Miami is obviously open to trading him and at this point I doubt they get a player better then Tmac for him. Blount is hardly playing and they would love to get rid of his contract. Miami has to hope the trade pisses Tmac off and lights a fire under him. The would have Chalmers, Wade, Tmac, and Beasley at the 1-4 spots which in the East isnt half bad. Miami wont like having Tmac on the books for another year since they seem like they are after Boozer this summer, but with Blount's salary gone they might still be able to get him. Plus it leaves them free and clear for 2010. Why Houston does this: I dont think this makes the team better this year. But again what do you expect back for Tmac at this point. Blount is a legit 7 footer to play behind Yao. It gives us a starting line up of Yao, Marion, Artest, Battier, and Alston. Marion has shown he can defend the PF spot and rebound plus has range to the three point line. More importantly, he comes off the books this year and Blount the year after so we have major cap flexibility in 2009 (maybe chase Boozer) or 2010 (chase the big names). Again, Im not saying trade Tmac. I dont think we get much improvement in return. I just want to see who others think we can get back. I dont see Morey making a move, cuz if he did turn down Billups and Wallace for Tmac this summer, it would look terrible to get so much less in a trade now.
I'm tired of all this T-Mac trade speculation here. He's what he IS right now.He still can contribute to our team, and that's it. I know we need backup center, hope Morey gunna work on it right away and go sign what we want.
No GM would trade for Tmac, unless it's Memphis/Philly. These teams need to sell tickets & even a gimp Tmac can still do that
A Tmac trade will not give us the tools we need to win a championship. The only value Tmac has in a trade is as a 2010 expiring right now. He has talent, but its old, injury prone talent. The only teams that would take a chance on that would be the Bostons, the Suns, Spurs, Mavs, types of teams that don't want to give up anything in return. The only type of trade that would work out is if we were to take an overpaid player on a long contract from another team. Deng from Chicago has been pretty sub par on his huge contract. They would probably want to dump Hughes as filler. The trade would work talent wise. But the problem is, any team that would make that trade would have to admit to their fanbase that they ****ed up in the first place. A lot of GMs won't do that. And thats really the only logical trade I can think of. Maybe we could pull Redd from the Bucks, but that has the problem of the Bucks probably not wanting Tmac. We could've gotten on the JRich train when that was up, but that would've been trading for lesser talent. There are no other borderline All-star players that would make sense to trade for. For every Mike Bibby or Hinrich you get the sense that it would be better if we take the risk that Tmac will get better before the playoffs (which he generally does).
LOL,that specific losses attributed to his fatigue and soreness on his knee is lame. Just bench him for the next 2 weeks and just see how is the progress goin.I don't believe the knee injury will bother him the rest of this season,if so,just rid him of our roster!
Once TMac is mentally/physically recovered, he would contribute a lot to the Rox, especially in playoff. At his present condition, he's not of much trade value, in particular in view of his high pay. I would suggest give him at least 1 month to recover and only play him when he admits he is fully recovered and see his passion in the game. If he stills plays with no intensity, that's the time the Rox should start to consider getting rid of him in the 2009-2010 season.
Tmac is still valuable to us. I would trade him if we could actually get something GOOD in return. But I don't see that happening. If he gets back into the right mentality and physical shape, we will be a deathly good team. Until that time comes, the step up guys are going to have to be Artest and Brooks!
The only player i want in a T-mac trade is Iverson. Iverson has the ability to make play like Tmac plus he's a hell of a shooter...which fit the Rockets.
TMac for Chauncy Billups and Rasheed Wallace/Tayshaun Prince... oh wait, that ship has already sailed hasn't it?
He did alot more in the 3 wins before that. This part of the season is about geting our good players healthy for the Play-offs. That is why Artest had a rest last night and T-Mac tonight.
Stop with the threads. Trading anyone (Starting Lineup, 6th, 7th, 8th man) would ruin team chemistry right now. You posters would really like to see that?
Good Lord! Another "what could we get for Tracy" thread. Please, for the health of Rockets fan, let it go for awhile.
