Rockets 4th seed, Jazz 5th, Rox blows by them 3-0. Malone officially give up and retires, Stockton was a big enough influence on Steve (like he was to Bibby) that Steve plays even more unselfishly and Rox shocks the 8 th seeded Lakers in 7 (who "upsetted" the top seeded Dallas Mavericks". Going on the Sactown and getting the same calls Lakes got last year, win, and beat what ever scrub east can dig up, championship. Hey i can dream can't I?:D

Seriously though I think/hope we get a first round match against the Jazz and send them home early. Remember it was Stockton's 3 in that western final that ended the Rox last era, time for pay back.

    I'm positive we're going to play the Lakers. I just have a feeling. If we're 4th, they'll be 5th, if we're 5th, they'll be 4th. We're not dropping below 5th.

If we get 4th, I'm confident we can beat them. very confident actually. We're so much better at the 4, possibly the 3, and infinitely better at the 1.

At positions where they dominate, we are actually better than most teams in the league. But, look at it like this. Can Mobley and Ming come up with 70% of Shaq and Kobe's production? Now add Francis and Fisher. We get closer. Add MoT/Griffin/KT vs Samaki Walker/Robert Horry and we get much closer. Throw in Rice and Fox, and they get a bit closer.

So basically, it comes down to our bench.

    Shaw
    Devean George
    Robert Horry

    vs

    Cato
    Griffin
    KT
    Moochie

Can we out do their bench?

Throw in home court advantage, and I think we have the best equipped team in the league to beat the Lakers. If anyone's going to put the Lakers out of the playoffs, it's us or nobody. Shaq has to go against Ming, and then if Ming fouls out, he still won't have an easy time against Cato. There's also Griffins weakside help.

The only team I want to avoid is the Kings. Everyone else, I feel we have a great chance.

Our Zone defense didnt work against the Mavs, Sonics, or Kings. That leaves the Spurs or the Lakers......The Spurs, hands down.

The last team I would want to paired up againts would be the Jazz. I know they "suck," but Malone has more playoff experience than our whole team combined.

I feel that we can beat them, but I'm afraid that our players would come out of the game brused and beaten by the Jazz's rough type of game (you know, where Malone elbows someone in the face and the other person gets the foul)

i would love for the rockets to play the jazz in the playoffs! That way we can all enjoy watching Stockton and Malone lose to the Houston Rockets!! Rocket fans need some revenge on the jazz.... Also I do not think Utah matches up with us well at all, i'd rather get deep in the playoffs and play the lakers, not 1st round.
