I'd actually rather have Rafer than Mike James. I've said this all along. Rafer is a better fit on a team with a healthy T-Mac and Yao. Last season, no one could have predicted those injuries. We would have been better off LAST SEASON ONLY with James over Rafer, since James is a legit scorer. Rafer is a better point guard. The offense flows much better with Rafer than it would with a shoot-first point guard.

Given his ball-handling skills and his relatively affordable price tag, I would prefer to hold on to Rafer. If we can get a better point guard, great! At this point in his career, Rafer can be (in my opinion) either a top-notch backup or a legit fourth-option starter in the NBA.

MJ has picked up his game of late...I don't think they trade him unless they really tank or Foye plays superhuman.

Also... since the Rockets are doing pretty well, I doubt they ship out any of their starters and risk disrupting a good thing they got going.

My guess is that either Bonzi gets dealt away by himself for a rotational role player (backup 4/5, backup 1/2).

Maybe a minor asset is involved one way or the other, but actual contributing players on the current roster are all probably staying, especially ones playing major minutes.

    ok, I'll bite:

    how's about -

Bonzi + Sura (only if he can't make comeback)

    for

    Brent Barry

then Clutch's old point guard crush can be on our team.

You do realize that the offense is NOT flowing through Rafer, but rather Tmac. Tmac is the PG, Rafer is the defacto shooting guard. Which guard do you want shooting, James or Rafer. THAT is the question.

How about JVG + Wells for Phil Jackson?

Look at Lakers as an example. Look what Phil Jackson has done to the team. Yes, he has Kobe and Odom, but Lakers play well when Kobe is out. Whereas Rox became definitely loser when either Yao or Tmac was out. Rodman situation was worse than Bonzi; Kwame is also problematic; Kobe and Phil didn't get along very well. But Phil is a professional coach. Look at their rosters, I don't recognize any of their role players until this year. But without Kobe they are a good team. With Kobe, they can beat everybody.

I just don't see Rox could win a championship under JVG's system. He doesn't develop players and definitely doesn't know how to get the best out of players. Most importantly, his plays are sucked.

Let's say Tmac + Yao = Kobe + Odom. Rox role players < Lakers role players? (I don't know) But, Phil > JVG; as a result, Lakers > Rox. If you don't believe me, wait till they meet and prove me wrong. Don't use Tmac is not 100% or Kobe is too good excuse.

I am not a JVG hater. Giving out free season tickets doesn't make him a good coach either. Phil would show you what can Wells do for you!

Remember, when PJ said he wants to coach the rockets back in 2005, Les passed on on him!
    It's not gonna happen.

Rodman (who despite his weirdness, never showed up fat and out of shape) was a bust in LA and got cut after less than two months. Great example.

so wish PJ could coach the Rox

by the way, with a deep draft like this incoming one, i don't think GM are willing to include draft picks into any trades

Geeze, can you guys please post realistic trade ideas!?
not some fantasy dream you having while smoking the pot.

it's the third time i am saying this,
we should get duhon from the bulls!
it's a practical trade for both teams,
which actually has a chance of happening!

Then forget about the trade. Let the out-of-shape Bonzi go. See if he will end up like Rodman showing up on a Playboy magazine.

Bonzi for Sam Cassell. There is no better veteran presence than old Sammy who can hit clutch threes, play better point than any of our guards and play smart bball. Defensive might be his only negative.

    Do the salaries work?

    If not throw in Sura.

if they're going to trade him...I hope they make sure they trade him to a team in the East. Last thing I'd want to see is Bonzi playing with a vendetta against the Rockets in the playoffs.

why would anyone want Steve Francis anymore. He has been a distraction and a bad luck for every team he associated with (washington, houston, orlando, NY), especially with the big contract he is still owed. we really need to move on from the Francis-Cuttino-Kato-MoTaylor era that reminds us of all the bad contracts and the terrible trades and draft pics and enjoy the new kids on the block.

Even though your idea has more legs than the other "fantasy" trade proposals in here, I still do not see the Bulls doing it.

I just don't see why they would give a way a nice, young PG with no one to take his place for a 30 yr. old 2-guard who will bolt at the end of the season. IF they had another player who could play well off the bench at the 1 for them and IF they were in a situation of having a very veteran team looking to win it now, then maybe.

Now, if you want to trade him to the Bulls, Malik Allen would be a more realistic option. You're not going to get talent for talent in a trade for Bonzi, but Allen provides more quality depth at the 4/5 that could help the Rockets as the season goes on.

I think we should wait til january and make a trade to seattle for rashard lewis, we can trade juwon, bonzi, and sura for rashard lewis, or if we trade novak instead of sura and add the TA we can get earl watson too

    ^^^^

The Rashard trade will have to look something like this Juwan, Bonzi, Novak and a couple future #1 picks for Rashard. Or possibly even Juwan, Bonzi, Novak, and Sura, plus a couple #1s for Rashard and Watson.
