It has mentioned in other threads that we could possibly obtain Tony Parker since Kidd could be going to the Spurs. Would it be possible for us to trade James Posey to the Spurs for Tony Parker? Posey hasnt really played that great in Houston and we need a point guard. Do you think the Spurs will take the bait? If this doesnt work out, is Parker a free agent? Im a huge fan of Francis playing shooting guard and if we can get somebody else that will play point, I will be absolutely thrilled. I definitely believe that if Francis plays 2 he can be one of the best in the league, right there with Allen Iverson if not better.
why would they want posey. Posey sucks and Parker could be a future all-star. They also already have Bowen who is a rich man's version of Posey.
IMO, the Spurs value Bruce Bowens defense more than Posey's. I like James but if he's better than Bowen, we need to keep him. And if he's not better than Bowen, the Spurs don't want him. A catch 22. Not to mention, Posey will want a lot more than Parker makes.

They exist but they are rare. Besides it's all a matter of subjectivity. If someone on this board would have proposed a LaFrentz/NVE for Howard they would have been ridiculed. Same goes for a Stackhouse for Hamilton or a Darius Miles for Andre Miller. My biggest complaint is/was traders that are clueless capwise. The old Garnett for Cato and KT and a pick. Yeah, right. Try tacking on another $17m in contracts.
sign'n'trade. Look towards Terry. He's a real and perhaps good possibility. Of course Rox'll have to take crap contracts with it, but so what -- it's not my money. Spurs are ready to send Parker to Houston for a 2nd. Maybe two 3rd rounders? It'll happen.
What about ROBERT TRAYLOR for DIRK NOWITZKI?!? Or Ben Wallace for some crappy guy. Yeah...it would be great if we could do this. Posey for Parker....that would be wonderful. Parker and Francis would be delightful together.....but what happens to Mobley? And then.....we would be left with Glen Rice and Terence Morris?

Even if the Rockets were to get Jesus Parker for Slamin' Posey, who would play the three? I don't think I'm alone when I say Glen Rice can't play 48 a game. Oh...that's right. I almost forgot. Hawkins and Morris. Our Championship small forwards.
The question was how to trade a FA. It didn't refer to Spurs. They can also sign Kandi and Odom, keep Parker and be beasts.
posey for parker? thats kind of a lop-sided trade...just a little. Parker is a future star. Posey is at best an average player. Posey + Mobley and a pick would do it.
Ain't that a fact. I've heard trades like Steve For Kobe, Mobley for Kidd. I myself shouldn't be laughing, I tried a trade for Steve, Mobley, Griffin + picks for Duncan. But at the end, they're all suggestions and pipe dreams.
