Makes perfect sense. Morey wasn't sure about our big man situation at the beginning of the season, so he waived the guard everyone liked (Conroy is it?) over Pops. Now that it seems our frontline of Scolandry/Chuck/Anderson is sufficient, that freed up roster spot will be for guard depth. He may or may not bring Conroy back.

Don't even think that; if he is traded, I would really be bummed out! I love C-Bud; he is the new fan mascot, and future star.

Some seem so surprised by this. I cant say I saw it coming but I'm not surprised either. He didnt play except in garbage time. Some also keep saying "Well he was one of our bigs". Again, he didnt play. Cut your losses and move on. Houston was just another stop on his career tour.

    2 questions:
How can Moery be so sure that injury won't happen to Scolandry/Chuck/Anderson ?

Why can't they wait to cut Pops on the day a guard is signed?

i think my scenario is a lot more likely than that...pops isn't a trouble maker and no one else on our team is, and i doubt pops had issues with the staff....

like someone else mentioned, cutting him rather than later could save them money...that's why they wouldnt wait until the injury happens, if it happens...i think it was pretty clear to them pops wasn't going to get any pt behind scola, landry, chuck, and DA....or of course, they made a deal that would help us more than pops.

Any other team in the league make a move as well?

Maybe Yao Ming is coming back sooner than everyone expected.

jk, but for your first question, its because we're a lot thinner at the guard position (only Lowry and Brooks) than the post position. This might be a sign T-mac is not coming back anytime soon. Your second question, well..your guess is as good as mine.

Maybe Pops got a bigger contract in China? If not for an imminent trade, it got to be something from Pops side.

because an injury already happened, to brooks....it's prob nothing serious, but if he can't go too many minutes or has to miss a game or two, they cant risk not having a back up point, just incase Lowry has trouble, fouls out, or gets injured too.

and the earlier they cut pops the better for pops, he can go tryout elsewhere and not waste his time here...

For Rockets, a two for one deal is a lot likely to happen than a one for two deal because of salary situation unless it is Tmac. So I don't see it coming.

Pops doesn't make that much money at all that Rockets have to cut him immediatly to save money.

Nobody knows if Pops is a trouble maker or not, just like everybody thought Wafer would have a problem until RA kicked him out from a playoff game.

I think complaining for minutes is more likely than trade or FA signing.

Rockets dleague picked up another guard yesterday, Henry dugat (sp?) from Baylor. So maybe they r just getting rdy to move up a guard in case brooks/lowry get injured.

I'm not going to speculate whether I believe a trade is coming, no where to even to begin on what DM is cooking up.

With only two PGs, this move is either for an upcomig trade or to add another PG to our roster.

Unlees an immediate signing happens, it makes no sense to let Pops go at this moment. They don't have to cut him before sign a guard. An injury could happen to our bigs too.

I am speechless. Only explanation is to open roster slots.

I really liked his Pops potential.
