I know there was a way to disable the pop ups you get from being connected to the internet, but I don't remember what it was. The popups show up as "Messager service" at the top and aren't internet explorer windows, I don't know the technical term for them.

They're just really annoying and I want it to stop. I forget what I did to fix it before I reformatted.

Download http://lavasoft.element5.com/support/download/ and install it on your PC. This little program will scan your PC for programs you have installed (on purpose or not) that are DATA MINERS or simply POP-UP generating programs. It gives you a choice to remove them or not.

They have "UPDATES" so that you stay up-to-date on the latest programs they can remove.

Try it. Let me know how it works for you. SORRY I missed this question before. Yes, there should be a section for people who want to know what to do on their PC if they don't work on PCs all day (like me).
