Seems the officiating is getting worse and worse... eg in last night's game therefs missed blatant fouls while calling ticky tack hand fouls. Also seemed the ref had an awfully quick whistle on both sets of double T's (I suspect he wanted to keep control of the game, but he should have also realized it was all playground jawing and that Brown's sole intention was to get Francis tossed). I am not sinling ot the PHO game (heck, we won) but throughout this season...
I think it's sad when officials are afraid to make calls against thug players. University (T-S-O) Blue
who's the thug? that's coney islands finest! and if you aint talkin' about starbury, then who you talkin' 'bout? i saw no "thugs" on the floor. thugs hang out at the bodega down tha street, not in the nba. damn! that's just ignorant. anyway, i saw no problems with the officiating other than way too fast with the whistle on the technicals. the first ok, trying to avoid blows, but the second? one of the more experienced refs would NEVER have done that. as far as eddie being tossed around, he's just too weak! i also do think those would have been borderline calls... post edited by Clutch Consider this a warning, gram!
I just think that there have been a few games recently where the refs let too much go early. In the NBA, if you don't get control over players by giving out a few calls early and maybe even a double technical or two, you can lose control of the game. Last night was a good example of a game getting out of hand. You could see that the players were jawing with one another and pushing each other around. It is the job of the officials to clean that up and get the players back focused on the game. Some crews are simply outstanding at doing that. Others don't quite seem to have it together.
