Show the world something at the all star game. For as much as loved the Dream and the years of dominance he demonstrated, part of me belives that Hakeem didnt gain majority popularity in that he played too in control at all times. Dream was the best and all, but in the all star game he just didnt shine. Heck he didnt come close to sticking out as one of the best of the best.

So please Steve, let me see some high flying, big jamming, amazing passing game out there at the break.

Bringing back the MVP would be pretty awesome of you too!

Idunno, I think to some degree, Steve's in the game because he's on the cover of NBA Live 2002, and to some degree, I think the big moment that shoved him into NBAwide conciousness was his runner up preformance in the dunk contest. So all in all, I think he's already showed quite a bit @ all-star weekend.

I never thought about the NBA 2002 game cover. That is probably why he got voted in. You guys reallize that if he wasn't the starter, he wouldn't be going again? His injuries, and the Rockets are in the lottery. He's lucky he's going, but Payton's gonna have to get used to coming off the bench on All Star weekend.

Hakeem never REALLY dominated the All-Star games for a very simple reason...Centers need someone to pass them the ball in the post to get the numbers...and that only happens if you're there with a teammate, especially a PG...It's no co-incidence that virtually every other big man who has been ASG MVP was there with his own PG...The All Star Game, like the Rookie Game, is essentially a perimiter game, starting with the pg...and as you go uo the pos. chart (1-5) you go down the likelyhood of seeng the ball on anything more than putbacks...
