He definetly needs to be a starter. He was the only reason we even had a shot.

Taylor should NOT be the starter. There is little point to starting this team five best offensive players. With Steve, Cat, and Yao also on the floor to start the game, Taylor would never even get any plays called for him. He is better coming off the bench, where he will get touches in the post with Yao on the bench. Then, in games like these where he is hot, he can stay in the game down the stretch. Griffin, for all his faults, is still a slightly more imposing defensive presence. That is what the Rockets need with the other starters on the floor.

If anyone could make a case for getting back into the starting lineup, it's Juaquin Hawkins. He also played great tonight on both ends. He is obviously a better shooter than Posey, and he is not too far off from Posey on defense (if not better). At least this game helped open the team's eyes to getting Hawk some more minutes.

Why doesn't Mo T start again??

I know he got hot today and I shouldnt base his overall skills etc just on this game, but Men he makes Griffin look like a chump. He even played good solid defence

And he doesn't do anything else. He is a sixth man at best.

well that may be a liability that we might have to swallow. The aim of the game is to put it in the basket

The reason Mo doesn't start is because Rudy likes his offense with that second unit. Also Mo has no Defense and Rudy likes having Griffin and Yao together early for Defense. If Mo could play decent D and score on a regular basis he would start. If you rememeber Mo just the last 6 or 7 games has been able to getting going scoring wise. Lets hope he keeps it up. We will need it since Franchise has seem to have lost his touch again.

Let's also not forget that Mo will follow this good game up with two or three bad games. He is as hot and cold as it gets. Now, compared to Eddie, who is always cold, this isn't so bad. Still, we'd put him in for a game, he'd suck and everyone would be calling Rudy an idiot and Mo T the most worthless player in the league . . .

Taylor is a hell of a lot better defender at this point in his career than Eddie. It looked like Eddie was day dreaming out there a couple of times on defense.

I would love to see Mo start besides Yao Ming. Mo is getting better and better as his injury is slowly going away.

Very well said and IMO very correct. MoT should maybe get more minutes...but he should not start.

The man's hands are on fire. He still doesn't have the defensive presence that Griffin has, but damn, I'll take him over Griffin right now.

Timid Eddie or Smokin' Mo (double meaning ;) )? MoT Please.

You are only half right. Griffins defense is just atrocious! Mo's defense is simply light years ahead of Griffin right now. This is not even debatable and don’t confuse shot blocking alone with good defense.

Eddie will be good at some point but right now he still has no clue what it takes to play good man to man or zone defense. The Wizards made several easy shots in the 1st half because they caught Eddie day dreaming. Yao Ming is consistently out of position defending his own man because he is consistently trying to cover up Eddies mistakes.

Why do you think this? Griff is still sleeping quite often on the defensive end. Sure he gets some blocks but he isn't the low post defender that taylor is and griff is HORRIBLE on switchoffs...did you see the game? Our perimeter D was much improved with Taylor as he switched and switched back from Lattener and Dixon many times...we'd be lucky if EG looked at the guy bringing up the ball, let alone switched on him.

EG just blocks shots, he's not a hard nosed or even smart defender by any stretch of the imagination.

Also, Taylor would be great for Yao to pass to out of a double team...Taylor can actually hit some long mid-range jumpers...unlike most of our players.

Taylor is very inconsistent. He may has 3 or 4 hot games in the whole season. That's it. Plus his defense is bad.

I agree with this 100%, I noticed over and over how MO was out defending past the 3 point line and constantly switching off. Ask this of EG and he'd start crying, fake an injury, and ride the pine (like I'm starting to believe he should be). The only reason I'm not totally against EG starting is because I know he needs playing time to get better.

It's time to start MoTaylor and Hawk

We need Mo's O and Hawks D to keep us in the game, especially when Steve is playing like he has a migrane. Did he stay out to late in D.C. or eat too much fried food at Grandma's.

Mo is improving every game, while Eddie's game is an accounting entry away from going bankrupt.

Hawk plays better D than Rice, which the Rockets need to slow down the top scorers at the 2 or 3. His offense is better than Posey, who's jumper looks sicks. I start cringing as he begans to pull up for an air ball.

Are we still paying Moochie and Cato? For what.

4 days and counting until my return to H-Town. The city and team I love.
