I was playing offline on the my player mode... Turned it off when I was done. Later at night, turned it back on and thought my career was deleted it's happened 2 times before. I had just reached an 88 rating too! Luckily, I scrolled all the way to the bottom of my saved files, and there it was. Saved on 12/31/1999 haha
i wish i would not have seen this thread. i only turned it on to see if mine was down. i think if i would have left it until tomorrow it would have been cool
Ya if you log in it will eat your Playstation's brain, had you not it would have been fine. No brain now. Word is you can hear it scream before it dies.
Well mine still has a brain. It is playing music right now. i think if I would have not turned it on today i could have avoided whatever fix will come down.
Just ordered an XBOX 360 bundle from Dell. ***EDIT*** I take that back. The Arcade version is on sale for $159.99 and MW2 is on sale for $55 so I can get these for basically the same price as an Arcade version and not spend $400 for a bundle that only includes a headset, hard drive, and 2 games I'll never play as extras. Will I be able to play games online OK with just the standard 360 without having any extra hard drive space?
Any word on this? Sony better be ready for a PR nightmare if this isn't fixable. I would still opt for the PS3 over Xbox due to the high failure rate of the latter, but this isn't helping Sony's case. I also don't have nearly enough money to drop on a PS3 slim if this isn't fixed. As it stands, I own a bulky Blu-Ray player.
I was able to play Madden last night. No idea if my franchise save is corrupt now, I'm afraid to look.
So, because people are speculating that this is an issue with the internal clock, there is a hope that it will correct itself within 24 hours, much like the Zune problem did. Of course, no one knows for sure. Sony hasn't said anything other than 'we're working on it'.
I noticed this the first 20 minutes it began happening. It's ridiculous it has gone on this long. As a fellow software developer, I can sympathize with Sony, but as a consumer I am outraged. This brings many questions of their design decision to make new games rely on the trophy syncing with PSN (and not start if the sync fails).
My fat PS3 hasnt' got affected yet, but ya seems like quite a serious problem this time. Hope SONY fix it soon...
It is not very serious. If it fixes itself that means peoples consoles were only partially down for 24 hours.
Those slim PS3's look and feel like trash, you sure you want one or are you just assuming? This is all YOU GUYS fault. You people wanted that childish trophy D-Flexing feature so they gave it to you. Now look. God forbid someone doesn't know how far you got in Little Big Planet because they sure as hell care...
Calm down, guys. I'm sure this will be fixed in the near future, probably within close to 24 hours. It's not that big of a deal. Xbox live goes down sometimes, too. **** happens.
The sad thing is, people are conditioned to accept the 360, MS and Live as being crap services. Sony used to have a different standard, too. It is a big deal. The PSN network may be 'free', but it's one of their selling points. The gold standard in the IT/Network industry for network uptime is called Five 9s. It means that you're up 99.999% of the time. PSN has been golden so far, but this is a big blemish. Don't even get me started on Live.
I used to like how my fat PS3 looks but now I have realized that it is a absolute dust magnet. Dust is on the top, it's filling up the vents too. I don't even use PS2 BC anymore and with the Slim it's easier to carry around if I want to take it to a friend's place or something.
