It's not like they are paying their own way when it comes to building stadiums. They just soak the taxpayers for a little more so their fans aren't soaked by rain or snow.
Houston would have been perfect. No travel day would be needed. Of course they could have required them to go to Australia if I had my druthers.
I hate to say it … with a passion. But I kind of want the Yankees to win. They will have used both their aces in the last few days, while Cleveland will have Bieber ready for game 1. And we are clearly in the Yankees heads and have both pitched and hit better against them than Cleveland. of course it would be great to see the Yankees go out early again, and minimize any risk of the misery that would be them somehow beating us … but our odds are better against them than Cleveland IMO.
So arguably their best pitcher all year, Nestor Cortez, would be able to pitch only game 4 of the ALCS on regular rest. This is beautiful. We would destroy Severino, twice. Regular rest scenario G1 Severino G2 Taillon G3 Cole G4 Cortez G5 Severino G6 Taillon G7 Cole I know they really need to win this game today, but they really need to start Taillon. Plus pitchers on 3 days rest just don't fare well, almost never.
Cole isn't on regular rest outside of 1 start. Him pitching Sunday threw that out of the window for the ALCS. Saturday nights choke job was brutal for their starting rotation for the next round
He was scheduled to start anyways, but I feel Guardians will be force to burn their bullpen shortly after 2 or 3. They can't afford to keep Civale in like they did with Quantrill once/if they give up some runs. We might even see Bieber in. Of course, this is all moot if yankees can't hit.
Guardians didn't use any of their high leverage guys over the weekend, so they should all be ready to go today. Should be interesting to see how they manage the arms.
Montas has been on the IL and hasn’t pitched in over a month. Not even on the Alds roster. Yeah pls start him vs hou on the alcs stage
surely, the astros are playing practice games and innings between themselves the days off? i mean...they're just not doing batting cages and practicing defense. i dunno what they do this whole time but i'm sure it involves a bat and a ball.
Going to root for Cleveland. Statistically the Yankees are better across the board. For example NY was # 1 in HR while Cle was # 29. With JV known to give up dingers and our offense prone to lapses that worries me.
Hot damn...poor guardians. Let's show them jankees boys! Play mad, play angry, guard the ball? Bat? Field? Hotel rooms? I got nothing...
