What is your expectation for playoffs. With the win streak and no Yao for the playoffs, I want to gauge Rockets fans expectations.
atleast getting to the western conference finals is good enough for me. of course i want them to win it all tho.
Depends on how the Rockets look on this upcoming 5 game stretch. And if Landry's injury is serious or not. Who knows.
SO let me ask you this? If we somehow win 4 or all 5 games that strech do you think we could win a title this year?
If we lose in the 1s round again I will understand but still be very very very diappointed , getting to the 2nd round will make me thrilled regardless what happens in the 2nd round.
I hope for a second round appearance. People, there is no way we win the title without Yao, put the pipe down.
this 5 game stretch will tell us a lot about this team. if we win 4 out of 5, i say we get past the first round. anything less will probably mean another first round exit.
Theres no way NY will beat the Pats Theres no way Mike will get knock out by Buster Douglas Thers no way Ali will be the heaveyweight champion of the world at age 22 Theres no way Rocky Marciano will retire undefeated Theres no way the Piston will be the Lakers with 4 hall of famers in 5 games Theres no way....Oh wait I'm pretty sure you get my point by now.
i think we have a shot at winning the 1st round, no matter whom we match up against. in certain match-ups, we could be favored to win. i'd be surprised to see us pass the 2nd round. i'd be shocked to see us winning the west and beyond.
It's so hard to respond to these types of polls. Are we suppose to vote with our hearts or our heads? My heart, which has a better history of being right, says all the way. My head, which has gotten me in some real trouble, says past the second round.
I say we get out of the first round at least and at last. I've always felt this, and the last two weeks seems to be nailing it home - we gel and play our best ball when the team forms its identity around only one of our two stars. I'm not suggesting that someone's holding us back - but it seems that with both 11 and 1 on the court, we have a muddled, confused identity and two superstars who are overly deferring to others. When one of them goes down, the other plays their best ball knowing that they can't hang back. I think we've got a more established gameplan, roles, and focus right now than we would if both stars were suiting up. I think we'll be able to match up against almost anyone we'd meet in the first round and be able to win out the series. Evan
I think the 2nd round is our best case scenario. Maybe if we finish with the 1st seed, we'd have an outside shot at the Conference Finals. In that situation, the Fakers and Spurs would presumably finish 2nd and 3rd and we'd avoid them for the first two rounds.
Well I'm not from Houston as a matter of fact I've never been to Houston. And I believe we can win it all.
What instigated my poll is Durvasa's thread about "we are not 20-0 team". Rockets fans are somewhat realistic about what is laying ahead. They know that losing Yao Ming was a big blow to their advancement in the playoffs, but also it is hard to bet against heart and determination of the remaining players. If the Rockets get out of the first round, the sky is the limit.
I think we'll make it to the WCF ala the Jazz last year. It only takes one series win and T-Mac will play even better than he usually does because winning a series would get that monkey off his back. One win can jumpstart something big but we'll probably fade out in the WCF against a better team.
