New Orleans and Portland have been hot and Utah are struggling as much as we are. 1/3 thru the season, how do you forecast the rest of the way? Edit: sorry about the display, here's a link to the NBA.com standings http://www.nba.com/standings/team_record_comparison/conferenceNew_Std_Cnf.html
I see us definately leapfrogging the Blazers. That leaves us at 9th. After that, it greatly depends on what teams have to deal with major injuries and what teams deal with late sason collapse. At the end of the day, I see us at #6 with 48 wins, passing the Lakers, Blazers, Hornets and Jazz, and behind the Suns, Spurs, Mavs, Warriors, and Nuggets.
I like Portland a lot but they will fall off. They are still too young. The Hornets and Lakers will be fighting for the 8th seed. The Jazz will get their shiet together sooner than later Rockets will get their shiet together later. 1. Phoenix 2. Spurs 3. Mavs 4. Golden State 5. Denver 6. Houston 7. Jazz 8. Lakers Still way too early but that's what I'd guess barring any major trades/injuries
I hope Adelman doesn't think like you. We would need to go 32-22 the rest of the way, almost .600 ball. I think that record will barely cut it. This team needs to turn things around QUICK.
I know we shouldn't be negative about the playoffs but how exactly are we going to leapfrog anybody with the way the team has been playing? There's a reason why we're the 10th seed and I'm not gonna talk mess about another team while we're in the spot we're in right now. I'll just say I would be ecstatic to make the playoffs.
don't know why everybody gets so upset after every single loss. coaches, players, everybody in the organizations been saying it's going to take time for things to start coming together. Hopefully around February, the team should start showing signs of everything coming together. there's also been delays in having to first train players just to stop playing gundy's offense. this process has finally started to show a bit, but the chemistry and team-play is far from what it will be after time and practice. It takes more than 1-2 months to teach a team a whole new style of play. More so since it's the opposite of what our previous offense was based upon. After the All-Star break, i see us winning 3 games for every loss. Just need to be consistent, which is what adelman is mostly concerned about. "we can't get too confident in our play, and we can't let ourselves get too low on it either. We have to try to just play games hard, and consistently every night." - adelman, and that's about the most sense-full thing i've heard him say about what needs to improve.
Rockets will be 9th or 10th in west conference if there is no change either in coach or player. No playoff and no lottery.
You have to realize if we wait till the All-Star break (February) to finally start to get better we will be in big trouble considering how well all the other teams are playing. That's where the panic stems from.
No Panic! Now we know that we are a 38 win team and will not have to face the disgrace of being knocked out in the first round! Having a decent pick in the next draft should be used along with our dead wood to obtain a couple of decent young athletic players who can put the ball in the basket.
Who will be traded away for a "glue" guy; someone who has no offensive ability and no athleticism. The Rocket's draft history is so abysmal that tanking isn't even an option. The only hope at this point is trading one of the big two (likely TMac) for several quality players. I don't trust the Rockets and the draft. Actually, I don't much trust the Rocket's owner or his organization to do much of anything. They can even overcome luck ie. Rudy Gay.
