I said that dropping a game against a non-elite team (like say, the Nets) would seal our fate. Nail in the coffin. We were in a bad position and had no room to stumble. Last night probably killed what little chance we had. Right now we need to go 14-4 to get to 43 wins, the minimum number I can concieve of us getting into the 8 seed with (and that would need help). With the loss of McGrady (for the season, I suspect), uninspired play from most of the roster, and the upcoming Dallas and SA games (4 combined), I think it's becoming less likely that we break 40 for the year. There is no way this team will go 14-4 to close out the season with T-mac gone for another few weeks. Sorry, unless teams ahead of us have a meltdown, the season is pretty much over.
Sacremento is on FIIIIIIRE! NO, LA, and Utah lost tonight. Their is still hope for the 8th seed, because no way is Sac not making the playoffs.
Can't we sign SPREEEEEEEE for just 5 weeks + playoff it shouldnt cost that much we need another scorer BADLY!!! and Spree can hit those open shot that Yao will gvie him
Forget about Spree, please, he wants 2 things:- (1) Big Money - which rockets can only offer him league minimun (2) Ring - which rockets struggling to make playoffs. and the rockets dont have both things he is interested in. Case Closed!

To be honest, we're barely in it, but still, barely is better than nothing. Sorry I've been slacking off
That and the Philly loss are like 2 knives to our calves while were trying to sprint. Still, until it's officially over I'll keep believing esp. the way the Hornets are dropping
The problem is that we're not chasing Hornets anymore. It's the Kings and the Lakers that we need to catch up with.
The Rockets have been a superstar forward down and a starting guard down for the past 2 games, if they haven't added a player to fill their roster spots by now then they are definitely in tank mode. The nail in the coffin was brought out when Mcgrady went down and Wesley going down soon after was the hammer that hammered it home. Lets just enjoy watching Yao's progress and maybe just maybe the Rockets can give their fans one last parting gift of satisfaction with a victory over Dallas, here, or at their house, before the season of hell comes to an end.
all this talk of 43-44 wins to make the playoffs is premature. the way the other fringe teams are playing, 40 wins might make it if Houston can win the last remaining game against the Lakers and finish with the exact same record as them. but first, the Rockets need to start getting some wins.
Yeah, it's a bit premature...shut up... Who to root for...? March 17, 2006 Edition Utah @ Atlanta Sacramento @ Indiana LA Lakers @ New Jersey Teams to worry about... Code: Team Games out of 8th 7. Come on guys, give me SOMETHING to work with here. :X I know it was Dallas, but **** we cut it down to 6 only to get our head bitten off again at the end. :/
