For the record, there are many people that could fit most of these categories, so this was very tough. 1. Either Achebe or Dr of Dunk, which I didn't get to see either one during the Smeg tour, but I think they would be interesting to talk to over a beer. Also, JAG/MacBeth (for obvious reasons) and Htownhero (to talk about Maynard James Keenan). 2. I would like to go to dinner with either ROXRAN (simply because we have talked outside of the BBS and have wanted to do this) or with MadMax, the most admirable poster on the site. 3. Zac_D - this guy knows everything and is a great sim commish. 4. TheFreak - by far, he is the runaway winner. I hope I can meet him some day. 5. My momma always said that if you didn't have anything nice to say about someone, don't say anything at all. 6. VesceySux, MManal, and Trader_Jorge - VS, because of Simpsons and music and other things, MManal because I respect his views on the Rockets more than anyone here, and Jorge because he understands what it means to be a BBS personality and someone with that type of understanding would be cool to talk to about all kinds of things (and I have talked to Jorge before during the Smeg tour but not for a long period of time like a roadtrip would do). Also, I could do a second one with Heath, moestavern19, and DieHard Rocket due to the camaraderie formed in chat with sim leagues and that I have not met any of them in person (I would also want to see if Heath is really a human being after all and not some computer like HAL from 2001 ).
Wait! Can I change my answer to question #6? I'd love to roadtrip with Administrator. Just me and... it. Lots of stimulating conversation and laughs to be had! The ultimate impartial observer! Ahhhhhhhh. Good ole Administrator. Maybe we could pick up an inanimate carbon rod, too, to spice things up a bit.
Nuts! I bet you were a hot cheerleader, Mrs. JB. Edited to oblivion... (sigh). I have some very funny (and hot) pictures of Mrs. Deckard at Halloween from our early days in the mid '70's and she wouldn't want some of them posted here, that's for sure. There were some wild parties just a couple of blocks off Westheimer close to Montrose. We used to use 2 or 3 houses at the same time, with colored lights strung across the street. Anything went (and usually did!). I still don't know why they weren't busted. It was an annual thing for a few years. But I digress. I'll have to ponder my response to this thread. It may take me awhile... I'm still basking in the warm glow B-Bob befuddled me with. (and the Spurs are playing the Lakers... two teams I love to hate. Joy!) That would be a hell of a trip, B-Bob. If we used an old '65 Mustang fastback, we could talk to dimsie and Elvis through the little door you can open from behind the back seat. I used to stick a friend back there to sneak into the Drive In. They usually did it once. (man, that's a small trunk and a smaller opening... major contortions!) What am I saying. Unless we were all Hobbits, we'd need something much larger!
Pick ONE for each 1. The one you'd want to have a beer with. This is actually way more tuffer than it first appeared. Fortunately, I have had the occasion to partake in the Shiner with several that could go in this spot. Except for codell...as we see eye to eye on many things, it's a real shame he couldn't make the Tour. Would have enjoyed the opportunity to talk over the keg. 2. The one you'd go to dinner with. ok, this is also tough. I would have to go with Behad(as long as he's cooking) exceptionally cool guy..makes a mean brisquet. 3. The one you'd call with your lifeline. Depends on the subject... Financial- T_J Sports-codell Music- Jeff everything else--Jag or MadMax 4. The one that you didn't like but now is OK hmm...several people used to irritate the stuffing outta me...but I have mellowed.. recently....I guess I would have to go with A Train..he used to irritate me, but now I get his style...and I find I dont mind it.. 5. The one that you would be OK with never seeing again. no question...fatfatcow(or whatever other nyms he goes with.) 6. The ones you'd do a roadtrip with (pick three). FattyFatBastard(fun-meister) Another Brother(funny-meister) codell(can you say designated driver?...I knew you could) a second roadtrip would likely consist of Freak, Manny, Mr Scary....we could head to the RnR HOF....music fest galore..unfortunately for Manny, we would be discussing hairbands and mid-to-late 80's hard rock..so he might have trouble keeping up.. so many others that could have easily gone into the listings..picking just a few is real hard to do when you respect a bunch of people here like I do. Sonny... yes, my young f-body fanatic friend..that was me that was "hogging" the keg at HP's.. Hell, someone had to drink it, the rest of you guys were being whimps! and even then, quite a few gallons ended up fertilizing Behad's backyard the next day.
My was a hint at me not remembering much because of my intake of Shiner... I knew it was you Mr. Monte Carlo! moe - ya didn't like me? Dang we must have really went at it over football. I'm sure I was right.
toner is a 2nd moniker for another guy. Kinda an anside joke. I'm very drunk. don't want to tyypoe too much to incriminate self. I enjoy your posts and wouod dig a roadie.
I'll try to exclude the guys I went to BW3's with. 1. The one you'd want to have a beer with. Too many to list, really. Of course, the guys above who mentioned me: I could talk cars all day with Falcon, and computers the next with Mulder. Strippers with Pimp, Tonayyyyy. Music education with Manny. '80s metal with the Freak, etc, etc. Treeman and I had a blast when we went out and got hammered. I'd do that again. One guy I really want to meet is Achebe. Ever since one debate a really long time ago, he's been one of my favs. And of course I want to hang out with Macbeth and his "friends." 2. The one you'd go to dinner with. Either Pops or DocRocket. I have a beer with these guys, too. 3. The one you'd call with your lifeline. Too many people for too many subjects. I'd be here all day. 4. The one that you didn't like but now is OK I had problems with several Libs here for awhile, but I didn't really dislike any of them RocketManTex (I remember when you were RocketManWest) is really cool to hang with, and I really enjoy Macbeth's posts, but never did I "not like them". 5. The one that you would be OK with never seeing again. Glynch and Boy. 6. The ones you'd do a roadtrip with (pick three). Macbeth Pimp Tonayyyyy Too many to list, really. I figure some of MB's luck might rub off on me.
RocketMan West?? Old Timer! Seriously, it was fun to hang with you too, and we need to have more of these get-togethers, especially when the season commences again in the fall. I just hope we don't do it on "Bachelor Night" at BW3, although the scenery was pretty good.
1. Another Brother and B-bob... the two funniest guys on this board. 2. Refman. It'd be fascinating to try to figure out how a guy so smart can be so wrong so often. He also needs a break from that new job of his... we'd go to an internet cafe so he could post a bit more. 3. MacBeth... isn't he some kind of superbrain prof type? 4. Probably Madmax... I used to think he was annoying on purpose, but have since figured out he's sort of like the Godfather: "It's not personal, it's politics." 5. I've never seen any of you people. 6. RM95 and any other two who would want to drive around the west looking for a good place to ski.
1. The one you'd want to have a beer with. Achebe - I think that the two of us drinking together would be very interesting. Add Smeg and it would be scary. or mr_oily and rockHEAD or BGM 2. The one you'd go to dinner with. I like the Jeffs, for somebody new I would have to say B-Bob so we could be all academic together. Also, Juan Valdez. 3. The one you'd call with your lifeline. Well, if I called MacBeth, he would give me the wrong answer and be "100% sure" so he is out (I feel sorry for all the people who would call him). heypartner is fairly bright, but I am way smarter than he is, so if I didn't know it he wouldn't. I guess I would pick Mango because his knowledge is different than mine and even if he did not know the answer, he could cheat and look it up on the web in about 5 seconds flat. 4. The one that you didn't like but now is OK. MadMax was mean to me when he was a newbie, rankled my feathers a bit...but now I like him. 5. The one that you would be OK with never seeing again. 95% of the bbs...not that they all are bad, just that I have no opinion of them so wouldn't really care if they went away. 6. The ones you'd do a roadtrip with (pick three). The Behad clique.
Wow. I was unaware of your feelings, rimmy. I have consistently treated you and your views with respect, even when I thought they were faulty. If this was a joke, I missed it. If it was a reflection of a serious opinion, fine, but I am surprised at the need you felt to try and belittle me specifically, especially when it was unprovoked and not required...It's almost as if you feel a little bit...nah, never mind. I'm certainly not going to get into a pissing contest over intellectual capacity. I feel fine with mine, and largely indifferent with yours, except when I was impressed by your historical knowledge which, although I disagreed with it's application, was interesting. You clearly feel fine with yours, and are apparently aggressively unimpressed with mine. I guess the comments about you had some validity, although I thought they were just jokes till now.
