Wow, they look amazing. I'm scared... Amare can STILL leap. His hand with the ball was almost at the the top of the backboard on that dunk. The west will be tough this year.
Sunds have been a lot less scary this second quarter. A LOT less scary. It's now 48-42 Suns. It seems it will be a close game after all.
In game one last year in the playoffs, the Suns had a huge 1st quarter, the Lakers adjusted, and the series was never the same until the 2nd half of game 7. Maybe this is the year teams are shocked less by the tempo hurricane the Suns throw at them.
The Suns seriously need to find a credible post defender. The Lakers are just throwing it in to the first yellow jersey in the paint and eating Phoenix alive.
wow they look like they don't even care...wtf happened? totally out of sync and they are playing negative defense.
The Suns can't -- or won't -- defend worth a lick. Everyone knows that they can score 40 in any given quarter, but everyone also knows that they will happily give up 40 in others. On another note, boy those Lakers suck without Kobe! No, no talent at all, just a bunch of 'scrubs'...
Until the Suns defend, it will be hard for them to win a championship. Their half-court sets on offense look very uncomfortable. Agreed on the Lakers. A team with Sasha Vujacich and Smush Parker in their PG rotation is a car running on a flat tire. Bynum looks good this game, but may not fare so well against teams with legit post defenders. Diaw is playing defense like Juwan Howard.
I can't wait 'til the Lakers play the Rox and see Bynum's face when Yao swats one of his little shots out of bounds.
BTW, I was being sarcastic about the Lakers having no talent. Kobe himself insists on pointing out that the Lakers are a talented team, but very young and all their young talent needs time to develop. All I am saying is that I disagree with those who argue that the Lakers have no talent next to Kobe. I do, however, think that they're largely composed of players who're too young to impact the team right away and/or need to work their way through the rotation. I think they're more or less a .500 team in the Western Conference, may be slightly better.
What are you smoking? Amare is horrible in this game. He is the weakest part of SUNS' defense tonight.
If you watched the first quarter, you would have agreed with me. Amare looked fast, springy, and knew exactly where to cut. The whole Suns team were WREAKING the Lakers. Since then, Amare and the Suns have been horrible, except Barbosa.
Tonight SUNS play way much better without Amare than with him. Obviously he is a negative factor tonight.
Well I'd have to agree with you there, although I didn't correlate Amare's insane dunk in the first quarter to the Suns playing well. He is obviously not there yet.
