It's not our fault that Jordan couldn't beat the Magic.

It's really surprising how insecure of a man Jackson is that he has to put down the achievements of others. The guy can't just be satisfied in his own accomplishments. One can just as easily say that Jackson's team's championships are due primarily to the fact that he was lucky enough to coach the best players in the league. I'm with Red Aurbach on this one:

pj shot his foot by himself. what he said indirectly proves he is not a good coach. he couldn't do anything w/o mj.

Very surprised King Solomon isn't taking more time to rip the Rockets and Morey and is actually defending something worthwhile.

I'd like to see that quote in something other than Jerome Solomon's blog, and with maybe a bit more context.

The question really is would MJ have won 6 rings without Phil. I think the answer is no. Phil is a great coach of great players. And Phil is smart enough not to get involved unless he has a great player to work with. Does Kobe win 5 rings without Phil? The answer, again, is "No." MJ, Scottie, Shaq and Kobe won with Phil. Without Phil, they did not win.

Wow, shocked that Jackson would even go there and forget he did have a "full" team during our 2nd run.

It's in Feigen's Blog. It's Phil being a huge dick, which is because Phil is in fact, a huge dick:

i've never had a question about what you said. what i tried to say is he painted himself a loser. he painted himself who had to ride on other ppl's d!k to win those rings. he painted himself nothing but a man like a bench warmer back in bulls' title run. those warmers had rings. it doesn't mean they are great. notice what i used? himself. he damaged his image by himself.

I would like to question the validity of the Lakers post-2000 championships due to Joey Crawford's existence.

    Except 1995, when they didn't.

Jackson should be smarter than that. Maybe he was having some fun with the local reporters.

Phil Jackson is a punk and a jerk.

The man is indeed a very good coach, but without MJ or Kobe his teams would have went no where. The man has been blessed to have had coached teams with talent out the ears but he still feels it is necessary to knock Rudy T, even though Rudy has been a consultant/scout for the Lakers for over 5 years now.

I guess the fact that the Lakers at one point hired him to replace Jackson still has him nervous.
