Seeing how my conspiracy thread has become the Pete Rose argument center. I would like to start a petition here, to get Pete to the hall of fame.

    4000 hits doesnt lie.

    Pete bet on baseball.

There is a rule that if a major league baseball player bets on baseball, he is banned forever.

Pete made his choice, now he has to live with the consequences.

Pete should not be in the Hall of Fame.

Ok,one last time, then I'm done.

Ban him from baseball now, fine, but why should that keep Pete Rose the player from being in the HOF?

He was never found guilty. He simply agreed to the lifetime ban. The two issues (betting on games vs. his play in the game) should be separate.

He was never found guilty because he settled out of court, he understood the consequences of accepting the lifetime ban, he has to live with them.

Until he admits his guilt, he should not be allowed in the Hall.

Technically, the two issues may be separate.

The problem is that MLB security built a very convincing case that Rose bet on baseball. Even Rose's friends (Joe Morgan, Ron Oester, etc.) think he is lying.

When Pete Rose comes clean, and tells the truth, I am sure many people will reconsider his case.

If he continues to lie, MLB will never give in because to them, this is personal.

I've heard the same thing Kingrene -- that if Pete Rose admits his fault, the HOF committee would consider reinstating him. Seems kindof contrarian though.

Don't tell us you did it and you won't get into the HOF. Tell us you did it, and we'll put you in.

Pete is one of the greatest hitters of all time, to the hall he should go.

Pete's problem, as mentioned above, is his inability to take responsibility for his actions.
If he just would admit his mistakes, says he loves baseball and wants to be in the HOF, I feel with 99.9% certainty that he would be in.
