Can anyone recommend a personal injury lawyer? I was in an accident about 3 weeks ago and the insurance guy is really pissing me off. I feel that he is starting to try to weasel out of having to pay me and I'm not going to have it. I have been off of work and still have back pain daily.

i'm friends with a personaly injury lawyer. well, to be more precise, he was my boss 5 years ago at UH and now we play poker on a weekly basis. other than that, we don't hang out and i can't tell you how good he is or anything about his ethics or how much he'll cost. :) but, as a person, i'd vouch for him.

To be honest, most PI lawyers aren't taken too seriously by seasoned adjusters .....in the end, most end up getting just enough to pay for their services and almsot nothing goes to their clients

If that is the outcome, they should be taken seriously ;).

Well, what I meant was, adjusters get threatened all day long ..lawers wanting "paint and suffering" damages for their client who missed 1 day of work to go to a Dr. who says there is nothing wrong with them. Most adjusters will pay for the Dr. visit (if that) and give them $500 to go away (IOW ..just enough to pay the lawer for his 2 hours worth of work).

Reaud, Morgan & Quinn- located 801 Laurel Ave., Beaumont, Texas 77701. Phone - 409-838-1000. One of the Partners -Kurt Leister subpaenoed (sp)me as a witness recently and he was extremely impressive. They have the trial- courtroom expertise. I am recommending also because they represented a friend of a friend who was serioously injuredin a car wreck that left him with diminished capacity. They won big and set up a trust fund for the family. This was a sad story in that the injured guy had started a new job and was really doing good in life. The accident really did change all that. REaud adjusted his fee to 20% and took many extra steps to insure the settlement was conservatively managed so there will always be money-principal. These guys did not behave like money hungry basturds at all.

Another good Beaumont Atty - law firm is Waldman Smallwood. Phone -800-833-9191. These guys absolutely kick *ss in the courtroom in front of the jury. They use props like toys and pictures to illustrate points to the jury. Do not laugh! Very impressive and effective. Ask for Travis McCall. Get in front of a Beaumont jury if you can.

These two firms will handle the case on their own and not refer it out like Jim Adler.

I work in construction - am not an atty-I would hire these guys to represent me if I was in a wreck or had an injury.

REmember - as the plaintiff it is simple - you are hurt and should be made whole-unfortunately money is the only way to give restitution.

    Good luck to you friend.

Are you going against your own insurance or the other cars insurance? If it is your insurance then all you get is what the policy says.

    Have you received any therapy?

My wife was in a wreck over 2 years ago that is just now getting settled. The adjustor was refusing to pay any medical bills so she eventually got a lawyer. We just found out they'll be paying the bills, plus we are getting a nice check on top of it. I'll find out the law firm she dealt with and let you know. It is a very long process though.

Basically I was rear ended about 2-3 weeks ago and while there isnt much physical damage to the car, I have had a lot of problems with my back. I had an MRI and it shows where I have two herniated disks. The orthopedic doc said that the best course of action is to rest and go to the chiropractor. I have been going to the chiro for about a week now which is still a little early to see any results. While I was in a lot of pain right at first, I am only really sore when I do too much or sit around too much. So I have to find the happy medium of sitting around and doing things to not be sore. That is much more difficult than it sounds. The real problem that I am facing is that my orthopedic doc took me off of work. The douche bag adjuster is saying that I shouldn't have been off of work for this long when there was not much damage. I can see where he is coming from but that doesnt make my back feel any better nor does it pay me from being off of work. I didnt ask to be off work, the doc prescribed it. The adjuster is saying that he cant say that its conclusive that my injuries are from this accident. Well douche bag, I didnt have any problems previously. I had been in a wreck several months ago and had no problems and therefore didnt make any injury claims. Believe me, I could have milked that one because it was much worse (or so it looked). The thing is, I'm not trying to screw anyone and I'm not trying to make money off of this. I just want my freaking doc bills paid and the money from missing work. Now I have the added stress of not having any money coming in. I guess I can refer my ex wife to him everytime she starts b****ing about not getting her child support. I bet that will get his ass motivated. The whole situation is just bull****. I didnt ask for the stupid woman to hit me and I didnt ask for my back to hurt constantly.

Lionel Hutz: Well, he's kind of had it in for me ever since I accidentally ran over his dog. Actually, replace "accidentally" with "repeatedly," and replace "dog" with "son."

Master, don't mean to make fun of you, buddy, but your first post sounds like one of those cheesy commercials to me. Call someone who cares. I mean that in a GOOD way.
