i love me some lips as well. have you guys seen them live? i'm not so sure i like the whole dog and pony show, i kinda wish they would tone it down or go way, way over the top with it. well, as has been said, they are evolving, we'll see how it all shakes out.
I saw them in 93. The entire band was covered in christmas lights and that was the only light source during their set.

I tried to see them in Dallas on the small Lallapoolza stage in 95 but it rained out. George Clinton later that night made up for that. They played in Sagemont of all places in 99. I was living right by there at the time so it was great for me. It was cool seeing the Houston hipsters wondering what the hell they were doing in Sagemont. FL handed out radio walkmans the played other music that went with the live music. I don't remember a lot about it except for strobe lights, puppet shows and confetti.
