Seriously. Three minutes standing there while a checker answers a question on the phone. She hangs up, and PRESSES A BUTTON. Transaction complete. Flabbergasted.
I was breast feeding my baby but had to stop to read this and now I feel insulted and less than human now.
I'm busy. But I'm busy READING ClutchFans.net, sir. Seriously speaking, was your transaction waiting on that phone call? Meaning, did something on your transaction depend on what the person on the other end of the phone said?
People who have no patience. Seriously. Three minutes standing behind this guy in line while a checker answers a question on the phone and the entire time you can visibly see his mounting frustration. She hangs up, and completes the transaction. He STORMS OFF. Flabbergasted. I kid. I know what you mean. It's annoying.
Do you guys still have to use the word checker? In the year 2010? Its now called a transaction agent. Please be sensitive to those who work in this rigorous, under appreciated discipline.
This happens all the time anywhere south of the Rio or the Keys...nobody is in a hurry, and you can still hear kids playing and laughing in the streets.
I agree- anyone who is a cashier has no business answering the phone while customers are on line- Michael's does this, too. Here's one I'd like to get your opinion on- this McDonald's close to my house- the last 2 times I went there, I ordered something for breakfast that they should keep stocked regularly- an Egg McMuffin once and a Bacon Egg Cheese Biscuit another time. Both times, they asked me to pull forward, and at least 8-9 cars got their food before me- these, of course, were people who arrived after me. So, a 3rd incident happens the next week, they asked me to pull forward, and I said, "No. I'm not pulling forward and watching people get their food first who came after me. I didn't order anything special- I ordered an Egg McMuffin which you all should have ready. I'll wait here in this spot until it's ready." Was I a d**k for doing that? Why should I get put "behind the line" when it's their fault?
NEVER piss off a minimum wage worker who prepares your food. Waiting at a fast food joint usually means your food is fresh(er). This is good.
