I use to always drive 10 to 15 mph over the speed limit but since the gas prices rose up, i have been driving below 5 to 10 mph of the speed limit. I guess Mr. Bush finally did something that influenced my life in a good way. Save money and decrease the danger. But still F U Bush.
Yeah, me too. Anytime anyone tailgates me, for any reason, I then make it my personal goal to make their driving experience hell for those few minutes I have control over how fast they go. I might slow down another 10 mph, I might do the speed up, slow down bit, or find a semi like you suggested. But foremost amongst these is the ultra, ultra slow lane change when I finally DO decide to get over and let them pass. They WILL wait a solid 20-30 seconds for me to inch my way into the right lane.

Yeah, tailgating always works. Just a great idea, especially at night. So Eddie, what if the person would have sped up? You still would have stayed right on his ass, right? So what's his motivation to speed up? If it were me, I probably would have done more than just flip you off.
If people start tailgating me, I drive even slower, and tap my breaks. I would rather that person be driving slower than faster, at least they were driving more safely. DD
I personally hate tailgaters. It's called a speed limit, meaning you're legally not supposed to go even 1mph over it. Of course most of us go over the limit quite frequently, but that doesn't afford us the right to get pissed off at someone who's obeying the law. Going 38 in a 45 mph zone isn't going to kill you. If someone is going too slow, just pass him. How hard is that? If the passenger gave you the bird, I'm inclined to believe you made it pretty obvious you were tailgating. If you had given him 10 feet of wiggle room like you said, I don't see why they would've been so upset.
I was just about to post this myself. In today's world, tailgating, flipping the bird, and being a general impatient a-hole can get you shot...
If you can't drive the speed limit, you probably shouldn't be driving in the first place. Stay at home, pansy.
There are two different types of drivers. There are drivers who drive for fun, relaxation or leisure, and for them getting from a to b is an adventure. Then there are drivers who just want to get from a to b in as little time as possible, and driving is just a means to an end. This is what happens when a meets b on a dark and windy night. I'm with you, Eddie. You didn't do anything wrong, you just put the screws to someone who was obstructing traffic. But if you're going to drive aggresively like that, you have to learn to shrug off the finger or silent cussing. Get over it. Being old or having kids is no reason to go that far under the speed limit. There are good reasons, but your demographic isn't one of them.
Funny stuff. Did somethting similiar to that a couple times, until the time I got followed. I really have no problem getting followed, I can probably lose them, but i ended up coming across a red light. So the guy pulls up beside me, gets out of his car and walks around to mine. I just pulled into the left lane and took a left turn at the signal, instead of going straight. Good thing for me i still made it through a yellow. Actually come to think of it, that still is funny. I probably would do it again.
Being old or having kids is no reason to drive 7 mph under the speed limit??? It's one thing if someone is going 20 in a 45, but 38 in a 45 isn't exactly obstrucing traffic. Unless by "traffic" you mean a bunch of a-holes who don't know how to drive.
Half the time, I drive fast enough as it is, but when someone's tailing me, I rather go slower than faster.... 1) Tailing me usually pisses me off in one form or another, and making him/hermore pissed off somehow relieves that stress. 2) If someone's tailing me, why would I want to give them less reaction time by driving faster and have him/her STILL tail me? 3) If I'm on a multilane road and someone's tailing me, then it usually means that I'm driving fast enough for him/her to stay at my lane instead of changing lanes.... If that's the scenario, I would like to slow down just enough to have that other car in the other lane right next to me. Basically, I just hate tailgaters.
So, do parents who drive 7 mph under the speed limit love their kids more than those that drive the speed limit?
