On my way home tonight, I get stuck behind some guy that's going 38 in a 45 for literally two miles. Naturally, I'm riding his tail because I don't want to drive 10 miles an hour under what I should be. Eventually, after 5 minutes and two or three miles of riding his tail, he makes a left turn, and as I'm passing him on his right, his passenger flips me off....WTF?

If you're gonna drive 10 miles an hour under the speed limit, don't have the nerve to flip someone off for tailing you....

Why didn't you pass him to begin with? But I hate that too, people driving way under the speed limit and they act like you're the one doing wrong when you go faster than they are. It happens in my town WAY too much, thankfully we have been getting more and more four lanes.

Windy, dark road at night, which may explain his slowness, but c'mon. Nobody should be going THAT slow.

Plus, it was double lines most the way.

No matter the reason, if someone is tailgating you, you have the right to flip them off

I just don't understand the logic. If someone is tailgating you as you're doing the speed limit, yeah, it's definitely grounds for a flip off. Or, as I like to do, slow down, and go about 5 under the speed limit. But this guy was just driving like he was 80. He was driving aboiut 15 mph under what any normal person would do, and I wasn't RIGHT on his tail.

I gave him about 10 feet of wriggle room. :D

But still, if you're going 10 mph under the limit, he could have at least sped up another 5 mile an hour.

you are an a$$, there are plenty of reasons why he/she may be driving slow. YOU should never tail someone cause they are going too slow! There are old people...people with kids...etc, you have to be respectful of that.

Guess I'm just not patient enough.

The majority of the population would tail someone for going that slow.

the 'majority'? i don't think so...whenever i have my mom in my car i always drive slow for her since she likes it that way, there are only a few idiots who tail me(not the majority), and i flip everyone of them off...in my mind :D

I was trying to kind of hint at that. I wasn't "tailing" him to the sense of if he slammed his brakes, I'd hit him. It was more like the, "Hey buddy...let's pick up your speed" tailing, in the sense that I was a lot further behind him that the typical tailgater.

You should do like I do... Slow down a helluva lot and get pretty far behind.... Then, you can speed up to how fast you wanna go... For a little bit. Then you just slow down again and then speed up again. It's kinda like swerving inside your own lane during rush hour. Simple little games to keep you entertained.

I do this all the time, especially for the entrance ramp to Northbound Mopac from 45th.... People enter a freeway with a speed limit of 65 going 25 miles an hour. I'm not saying speed through the neighborhood and run over someone's cat, but for the love of Pete, speed the f*** up when you're getting on a freeway! So, I hang back, let them get a good distance in front of me, and then haul ass so I'm going the proper speed by the time I get close to them, change lanes, and get the hell around the slow-tards.

I would have flipped you off, right after I trapped you beside a semi, sped up a little to make you think I was letting you overtake the semi, then slow down again, repeat process while LMAO.

If the guy is stressed then he's driving at a speed he thinks is safe. Tailgating him makes him even more fearful of his life. If it is a windy road, there's still crap to pay attention to even if you're familiar with it.

I don't know why you're stewing over it. At least no one got hurt.

38 in a 45 isn't going to kill you. We all pay our registration fees and other taxes, so we have the right to drive on the roadways a little slow if we want. There are many people who would be ticked even if the guy was going the speed limit.
You'll get old one day, and will likely slow down a bit too.

im a speeder but not a tailgater. you cant get mad for someone going to slow unless they are in the fast lane. Its a speed LIMIT, not the speed you need to be driving. If the guy was screwing up traffic(which means more cars than just you) then he would deserve the bird. Besides, in that whole two miles there wasnt one chance to pass? Also, dont speak for the majority, make this thread a poll then see the results and maybe you could say you speak for the majority in this forum. Sorry dude but you were so wrong in this situation.

Thats what 99% of the people in India and Pakistan do...all you hear during the day is constant honking through out the city...no exaggeration
