People can do what they want to in Rome, but from what I gather there is testimony towards indicating your defensive analogy is futile and weak...There really does NOT seem to be any neccesity or cultural pressure towards appeasement dress up.

    It's all about choice.

We??? If you're speaking of conservative/republican hacks who can't get over losing both the house and senate, then yes, you speak for them.

All of your proof that she is appeasing terrorists is that she wore a headscarf to a mosque in Syria? Could your fake self righteous outrage be any more pathetic or desperate? I haven't heard such bull**** from the right since Clinton was president.

If this was such a big threat, why did the state department let her go?

Deal with it! You guys and shrub are going have to deal with the Democrats that were sent back to Congress by a large majority of "we" americans.

I think the "we" I am referring to is... basically anyone who understands that Pelosi would make the decision...the "choice" if you will... to demonstrate whether she would symbolize strength and the unacceptance of intolerance to the enemy...or not.

    She choice not to...

She was going to show that strength by not wearing a head scarf in a mosque? That is what you see as showing strength?

There was no need to go to the mosque. There was a need to meet your enemy and look them in the eye.

A la Donald Rumsfeld in 1983, oh yeah wait Saddam was our friend back then.
Yes and as of now Syria is much more of a threat to middle east security/world peace than say the Taliban and the insurgents in Iraq.

The whole Fonda-Pelosi incident scares me, but perhaps what should scare us most isn't the terrorist appeasement by her, but rather her total misrepresentation of Israel's diplomatic position with regard to Syria. She literally gave a depiction that was 180 degrees apart from what Israel represents. So not only was she undermining the President by being there, but she was also undermining the Jewish State. Reckless and irresponsible.

Actually, Saddam was the enemy of our enemy. Another story...What you need to realize is that Syria IS a state which sponsers terrorism. Terrorism and intolerance from the middle east IS the threat...Pelosi had an opportunity wasted in my view. Pure and simple...

And it's not just a wasted oppurtunity, it's about how she could have reflected strength and in conjunction pronounce a stance against intolerance.

Exactly! Even the Syrians should have smelled the farce in every direction from her. Israel has to be both amused and confused by her antics...

So Israel is the one who coined "Axis of Evil"? I hate that term.

Why does this matter? Did Pelosi get elected to the Kinesset while we weren't looking?

I think there's more than enough stuff to back up the notion that Pelosi did exactly as she was asked by the Israelis and conveyed exactly the message she was told by the Administration. Here's Josh on the issue...
