I'm going to be in the market for a PDA/Phone combination pretty soon. I would also like it to have GPS capabilities also but it's not a deal breaker.

Do any of you have any experience and/or suggestions? I'm a T-Mobile customer so any phone would have to be compatible with that.

I have a Siemens SX66 and absolutely love it. I popped a 1GB SD card in it and have all kinds of space for files, mp3's, videos, etc. I am not sure but I think that it works with T-Mobile but I'm not sure. I use Cingular.

    Oh yeah, no GPS.

Which would be better: one that's Palm based or one with Windows?

Personal preference. Both will sync up with your PC. Windows has it's advantages and Palm has its advantages. Palm has been doing the PDA thing for a while and has lots of programs and add ons, Windows (mobile, ce) might be more integrated with your computer. You're gonna have to research 'em and decide for yourself.

The new, new Treos (not out yet) will be Windows based. Not yet sure if I am going to upgrade. I really like my current Treo.

I'm holding out for the Treo 700 --- it's similar to the 650, but MS Windows based. There will be an announcement in early January of their availability.

Looking forward to replacing my Blackberry 7250. I've dropped it so many times, it actually has learned to bounce right back up into the holster. Makes daddy proud.

I was thinking of the Treo line as they're the cheaper options and still useful for what i want/need. I see that rockhead liked the treo but does anyone else have any experience with one?

The model doesn't really matter. I'm not really sure that the OS matters either as I have no experience with either.

I went back and forth on the palm/windows question for a long time and settled on a Treo650. Palm simply is much more mature in terms of programs and experience, and handheld windows has a way to go.

I also have a Crackberry that my work bought for me and never use it (no phone service), but most people swear by it. Not too much in the way of multimedia viewing or program add-ons.

    Indeed!

If you get one don't go with the cheaper headsets, I just bought the Sony Akono and it works perfectly. Friends of mine have had problems with others.

Bringing back this thread because I recently came across the Blackberry 8700g and wondered if anyone had used this model. I don't usually use my phone for multimedia so that won't matter as much and I hear the BBerry line is great for email (which is what i want to use it for).

Anyone had any experience with this model?

I've had mine for about 4 months.

    Best phone I've ever purchased.
