Gary Payton is on the trading block. If we could get him for say Maurice Taylor and somebody else or Cato and Mobley would you do it? I think the Rockets should try and make a strong push for Payton because that would take our team to the next echelon. Payton is playing like hes 20 and the Rockets need a good assists man. Imagine Francis and Payton in the back court!!!
That is a great idea! that would be so bad ass. some people would say we would lose defense but Payton is the glove. I have been wondering myself why these trade has not come up before. i would definatly trade: payton for cat and eg
with all this "get kidd/payton/miller" talk going around.. I really wonder what it would be like to have a small point guard and a small SG like steve on the floor.. would we be overpowered because of our undersized guards? would we see post play by bigger guards (tmac, carter, kobe, pierce) whenever we played them? personally, I don't like the idea of having such a tiny backcourt..
plus I think we should go after a better Power Forward first.. I'm so on the Elton Brand band wagon =\
You think Rudy, CD, and Les have something up their sleeve and are ready to pull the trigger? Payton and Francis in the backcourt would be unreal. You have a true PG and someone who guns like a SG. Mobley could still come off of the bench and get his 20-30 minutes. I think we would have to trade Mo (who they have been interested in) and possibly Cato and Rice. Hell I dont know exactly. I dont have time to d!ck around on RealGM.
Well, it would be nice but I can't seem to get a trade b/w us & Seattle, for Payton, to pass muster on RealGM. Anyone else have better luck?
Second that notion! Great work drapg. Now do you have any inside scoop on the Rockets? Humor like that have been the root of all the Croshere talk... yawn.
The Rox won't and should not give up good promising young players for GP. Reasons (although I love GP): 1) He is old and not too many good years left in him. 2) He is a free agent at the end of this season and could easily bolt. 3) Seattle is not trading him unless someone is willing to take their high priced-salary consuming scrubs (ie Calvin Booth) along with him. And the last thing we need on this team is Glen Rice II.
