When did PayPal start putting holds on your payments received from eBay sales? I sold an item today and I get a notice from PayPal saying that the hold will be released when 1 of 2 things happens. 1. Positive feedback is left by the buyer 2. The item is delivered. My problem is, many of the buyers I have dealt with in the past do not leave feedback after purchases. I always use delivery confirmation and insurance but it seems like a hassle for me to go and type that information into an additional place. I don't have any negative feedback at all and have never had any kinds of disputes either. It seems to me that they are doing everything in their power to protect the buyer and not doing so much of that for the sellers. Oh well, I guess there is nothing that can be done about it, especially after eBay made PayPal the only payment method available on that website. Sucks if you ask me.....
Yeah I got that **** too. I sold a Rock Band 2 Set to somebody 3 weeks ago and still waiting for feedback.
So, if you can't confirm delivery and the buyer never leaves feedback, it's possible to never get your money? What are the alternatives for eBay'ers?
So did it ever show up as being delivered? Did you input this wherever PayPal/eBay wants it? If so and you still didn't get your money I may need to think twice before shipping this item out.
eBay is pretty much a monopoly. Sure there are sites like uBid but I think eBay controls something like 95% of the market when it comes to online auctions.
If you enter the tracking number under shipment info (or whatever it's called), eBay can determine when the shipment is delivered. The hold is then released a day or two later (at least in my experience). I sold a phone about a month ago and made sure to enter the USPS tracking number on eBay because of this new policy. If you buy a label thru eBay, the shipment info is updated automatically. Once delivery was confirmed, I got my money. The buyer still hasn't left feedback, but I was paid... Hope this helps.
Paypal steals money. They have been thru lawsuits accusing them of holding on to money. Do not use paypal as a seller if you can avoid it.
I had been a faithful ebay user since 1998 until 2005 when I got royaly screwed out of $400 by paypal. Never, ever use paypal. It is like opening up your bank accounts and credit cards to a total stranger with no legal restrictions.
Although it has happened only once, one time the postal worker who delivered my package forgot to scan the item when it was delivered so it shows "In Process" to this day. I'm glad the buyer was totally honest about it. They didn't put a hold on my funds at all then though.
blame ebay, since they purchased paypal, they started this dumb shiet. after the delivery confirmation, u still have to wait up to 3 more days to get the money or complain about it.
ok, I see it now. https://www.usbswiper.com/blog/2008...g-policy-why-i-agree-and-how-to-work-with-it/
So is this a new policy? The last time I sold something a few weeks ago I didn't have a problem collecting my money
