    Hey folks,

To those of you who are more savvy than I at using online auction sites, I have a question.

On March 28th, I bought some tickets off eBay to the Mets/Astros game on April 11th at Shea stadium. I then received a message from the seller saying that he accidentally put the wrong paypal account, so he refunded my money and I paid his other account on March 29th.

I received an email saying the following: "***** ALL ITEMS THAT PAYMENT WAS RECIEVED FOR BY 10:00 AM CENTRAL TIME
ON MARCH 30, YOUR ITEM HAS BEEN SHIPPED ON THE AFTERNOON OF MARCH 30"

I figured this was fine, because I needed the tickets mailed to me by April 6th since that's when I was leaving for New York.

On the 4th, I let him know I really needed them by 6th and he said: "I just sent the tickets yesterday using priority mail which takes 2 to 3 days, so the tickets should be there on Wednesday (6th) or Thursday (7th) at the latest."

Well, I checked Wednesday, and they were not there. I then had a friend check for them Thu, Fri and Sat on the off chance that he could overnight them to me, but they still never arrived.

There is now no way I'll be able to go to the game.

Do I have a leg to stand on assuming that the tickets do not arrive today (Sunday - the day before the event) or even Monday since he claims they were in the mail in plenty of time?

And, if it was just a "lost in the mail" situation, it's not necessarily his fault, but I also got nothing for my money, so what happens?

I did not have a tracking number, and I did not purchase any extra insurance from Paypal. Also, since I did not end up paying the email account the original auction item was purchased from, I'm worried I won't be able to get a refund (is this a loophole that people sometimes exploit?).

Any insider scoop on how to handle this type of thing would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Pete
