He stepped up his game recently and responded to the rookies.

No one is going to take the starting spot away from him anytime soon.

The guy is flat out beasting.

The question now is whether or not this is the player he really is.

He was worrying too much about getting contact rather than finishing. I thought he was gonna dunk that.

you have to think at some point teams will stop giving him wide open looks on outside shots, which is how he gets most of his points

First of all, as a stretch 4 he'll always get wide open perimeter shot because opposing pfs dont like to come out.

Second of all, he also gets shots off of pick and pops.

3rd, he had a couple pts in the paints.

He has multiple ways to score. Unless his jumper goes cold, he can consistently provide around 15 ppg in this team. This is a very unselfish team.

Look at Smiths production tonite. The guys on our squad will get you sociring opporutnities if your aggressive.

If his shooting is this consistent, then I can live with some of his shortcomings for the mean time. I still don't think he is the long term solution since he is not someone you can throw into the post consistently to create shot or pass out to the open man while being double teamed consistently, however, with his current play, I definitely think he is a nice short term solution (while D-Mo or Jones develop to our star 4 or we sign a free agent that can be our star 4).

I'm just glad he got out of whatever funk he was in last season and the start of this season. If he could just go up with power and stop being such a softie, I would appreciate it, but I can live with it since Asik covers up his shortcoming on rebounding.

Patterson is doing now what he did in is rookie season. He's floating to an open spot on the floor and then making jump shots. It's also important that his teammates get him the ball when he's gets open. Patrick doesn't usually create his own shot, so he depends on others getting him the ball at the right time in order to be effective. I think the players are learning how to play with each other, and players are getting the ball at the right time. Hope it continues.

I have thought Patterson was soft since his rookie season but I will give him credit, while I still see his soft tendencies and see him as the softest starting 4 we've had in years, he is developing into a viable finesse PF. Don't trust him to keep scoring 20 points a game but if he can keep up some of it and 5 or more rebounds, I won't have to hate on him as much

To be fair he was plagued by injury his second season.

He's really coming out of his shell as of late. If he is the type of soild finesse PF I think he could be, our starting lineup is all set.

When did Patterson become a strech-4? Was he one at Kentucky? I've been following him ever since he was drafted and they were always playing him in the post.

As a finesse PF in the mold of Bargnani, 2Pat is a much better defender and has at least potential to be a better rebounder.

McHale tasked Patterson with taking--and making--three pointers to spread the floor, starting this season. It's a brand new development.

He's shooting them at a > 35% clip too. Really not bad at all.
