So I finally watched last night.
First off all, I had no idea it was all in Spanish. Subtitles tends to turn me off, but I gave it a shot and it was okay.

I also had no idea how violent it was. Lot's of blood and pretty graphic killings.

Overall, I thought it was a pretty good flick. I expected a little more of the fairy tale aspect, as opposed to the whole facist hunting rebels storyline.

Oh yeah, the Pale Man freaked me out.

    What did you guys think?

I liked it, but I thought it was going to be a kid's movie. Kids have no business watching it.

best movie of 2006! the plot, the score, the actors, such a treat for fans of cinema. To think that the original plot was going to deal with the mexican revolution, but no one in mexico wanted to sponsor the film :(

Saw it on DVD. It's good to see well produced non-American flicks sometimes. The interview with the director was great because it opened up to everyone where he was coming from. I strongly recommend watching the DVD and listening to the director's interview.

How about the bullet to the eye near the end? Gave me chills watching the eye shoot upwards. The guy sewing his cheek shut was also something else.

I like subtitles, for some reason they never bother me and I can get into a movie even when I have to read them, it seems like I don't really have to read it..kinda hard to explain, movies seem more authentic with them

    The R rating should've been a clue :p

The graphicness of the scene with the two rabbit hunters completely caught be off guard. I was definitely expecting it to be more children-friendly. I guess since the main character's a little kid, I didn't even notice the R rating.

With apologies to The Departed, I thought this was the best movie of 2006. An extremely well-done movie.

Whenever I watch movies at home, I always turn on the subtitles. Its easier for me to pay attention to the dialogue.

I thought Letters from Iwo Jima, Borat, Last King of Scotland, Little Miss Sunshine were all better than Pan's Labyrinth and The Departed.

I actually thought The Departed was a bit too formulaic and didn't have great cinematography.

The weirdest movie of 2006 for me was Perfume. It was a very unique tale about a serial killer.

So, was it all in her head? If so, how did she get out of the room?

maybe she wasn't in the room at all, or the guy wasn't in the room when she sneaked in

I liked it. Especially when General Badass stitched up his fishhooked cheek.
