also Jake is deeply invloves in a paintball site which is new, and gaining popularity at an alarming rate
    http://www.forceofnature.com/
there is alot of info there, as well as forums where you can ask questions.

so, what is your price range?? I own 3 guns my brother owns 10-12. including my other friends gun experiences i will be able to tell tou some thing about just about every gun on the market.

hey Pole, yours may actually kill things. which however i have no intrest in, but does yours fire more than 12 times per second??
can you fire over 200 shots before re-loading??

oh, and is yours actually fun??

Any time today is fine for chat I have alreasdy done the mothers day thing

and to put your price range in perspective, MY gun costs more than $1,000 so goos is relative ;)

I would aim for decent right now if I were you.

But your thinking is correct in order of purchase.

    buy a decent stock gun
upgrade barrel first, trigger, hopper, air system later.

to answer your question, yes the first ever paintball fatality occured in southern california only a few months ago. this DIDNT HAPPEN DURING GAME PLAY. paintball is statisticly the safest sport played today (safer than golf) what happened in Cali was this, and yes it is FREAK. aparently some jack ass kids decided to do some vandalizing and terrorising with their paintguns. they decided to shoot up a person rollerblading down a street. the person upon being shot fell down(an embankment I belive) and died of head injuries from the fall.

the kids are in big trouble(which I am glad about) however no news about the trial yet

DREW I will be in and out of the chat looking for you. otherwise let me know when you want me there.

    PEACE

Man that sucks, sometimes when i was playing i thought i got shot at by my own team, but i don think it was them. It was hard to tell who was on my team cuz we only had armbands of like 1 team red and the other blue and most u couldnt see from far distances.

If you have ever played paintball, or just are curious about paintball, Go to Force for Nature

    and down load the Videos.

    http://www.forceofnature.com/

they have the best videos on the net and it will give you an idea of how crazy tournament paintball is. also maybe why I have been hooked for 8 years now.

I cant wait for this tournament next sat and sunday

    Actually, I don't have a paint-ball marker.

The picture is of a $2,000 paint-ball sniper marker that I found on the net.

I played a lot of paintball earlier. We were a bunch of guys that went together and bought us some markers. And played a lot the first couple of years. I think last season was the first season I did not play. My problem with it in the end was that it was a lot of "work" to get enough guys together and we ended up playing with what I in felt was to few players to come up to the level of fun it was earlier when all of us was new to the game and eager to participate as often as possible.

But it was a lot of fun. In the early days we even was enough to have a cameraman operating in the field. We got some nice shots on camera. One of the better shot I got when I was taping was when I discovered two players and followed as one of them moved in from the back of the other. When he felt he was close enough, he made a run straight at the other guy and fired 3 shots in his back while moving towards him fast. The first shot was probably 20 feet while the last one was from about 1 foot. As he had fired the last shot he made a 90 degree turn an ran straight towards me. The player being shot from that close of course got mad like hell and turned around and fired a some paintballs after him (and me). Later I got to shot of the "crater" of the back of the player that was hit, and it was not small. I can imagine the pain. Both of the players in this shot are best of friends, both before and after this "incident" but had he not continued the run he was told that he would have clobbered him with his marker due to the intense pain.

I would probably still play if I had a marker (my old broke down) and the activity was larger where I'm located, but investing in another marker at the pricerange "needed" is not an option for me until the activity is better.

    Drew,

I asked my bro a few questions

there is a new paintball gun/company out there that has a $100 electronic gun. now this is a good option and its in your price range. The tippmann I told you about as well as the Spyder are gonna be more reliable. but this thing is apparently pretty decent, and no need to tinker

again its a matter of weighing now vs future, and how long will it be before you buy a better marker in the $600 range. every product has a starting level of performance and a level to which you can get the marker.

I own an Autococker which is at its absolute peak in performance. therfore I have a tournament quality marker.

no $100 marker will ever be tournament quality, however you may be able to get a tippy to rock like the bigboys if you do enough to it. but again its all about how much you like to tinker. A polished or shaved sear can go a long way in this business.

I think the gun you are taling about for a $100 dollars is a good idea. If I ever want to buy a $600 gun, it is a little farther down the road................ tell me more please.
