I'm sick of Flyod and his antics. A real fighter fights anyone. Every excuse Flyod makes about not fighting someone always comes down to the money. He refused to fight Mosely and Cotto because they he said they don't "draw". I'm glad Cotto called him a chicken and said he wouldn't even try to fight Money May again because hes scared. Pac will do 50/50 but Greedy May will not. Sure, Floyd is a great fighter but if you call yourself the Greatest, you fight the best, regardless of how well you think they can draw. I also wouldn't count out Manny in a match against Floyd. I bet you were one of the guys that said De La Hoya and Hatton were too big and too strong for Manny. Well, we all know how those fights turned out. Oh yeah, Floyd wants nothing to do with Paul Williams. Just like everyone else who ducks him.
The Corrales (RIP) fight was a long time ago, and "Chico" was in a class just above Gotti, offensive fighters with an uneven resume. Last time I checked, PBF is the favorite against JMM. Most experts have been overlooking JMM, pitting Floyd against Pacman, since Pacman exposed the Golden Boy and the Fat man for the fraud that they are (retire). PBF has been injury prone lately (hand, elbow, and rib injuries in consecutive years), and I don't know what kind of rust he has after the long layoff. And the man crush for Paul Williams (not a power puncher) disproves the notion that the board overvalues knockout artists over "boxers". If you think Manny or Juan Manuel are just knockout artists, watch the entirety of their last few fights. Both fighters' boxing skills are underrated. Especially Manny. He has developed a right hook, better combinations, and improved defense. Anyways, I can't wait for both fights. PBF vs. JMM and Pacman vs. Cotto. Hopefully, Mosely vs Williams will happen - should be intriguing between fighters who can't get fights
This. Cotto didn't impress me in this fight. He did show heart fighting with that crazy gash over his eye but.. Clottey was robbed. If anything the decision should have been a lot closer... maybe.. a tie. But Cotto didn't hands down beat him. Home court advantage prevailed. I think Pac will prove that his the superior boxer. Cotto seems to back down a little when the other fighter gets aggressive. It may get ugly.
Floyd outboxes you. He has the type of skillset that will give anyone problems, especially punchers like Pac or Hatton. Anyway I absolutely do not hate Pacquiao, I think he has accomplished alot of great things in boxing. Him dismantling Oscar was great and it brought alot of attention to him. Thats great for the sport, he has improved his skills over the years and Freddie Roach has done an amazing job with him. Just because I choose one boxer over another doesn't make me a hater. I choose Floyd over JMM but JMM is my favorite Mexican boxer. I choose Pac over Cotto too, so how am I a Pac hater?
I figured Hatton would be too strong. But in boxing strength and size don't really count for a whole lot. Plus I don't care how big you are, if you stand in front of a power puncher like Pac with your hands down, its going to be lights out no matter what you weigh. I knew Oscar would come in weight drained and exhausted so the size didn't matter in that fight either. Regardless, I think Cotto might be "too strong and big" for Pac but Pac will still take this one. Manny has a better skillset, can take a punch better and is faster and probably punches harder.
Cotto is just about the perfect foil for Pacquiao: Aggressive entertaining style: Check. Not Being Great Defensively: Check. Easy Bleeder to Make Pac's Punches Look Even Harder: Check. Size: Check. Good Reputation Among Fight Fans: Check. His Own Country as Fan-base: Check. Now that I think of it... Cotto has a lot of Hatton in him-- obviously diffderent guys, but a lot of the same criteria that makes for a profitable fight that Pac has a good chance to win and will look good while winning.
Floyd is the one that didn't want to fight Pacquiao. Floyd comes out of retirement the day before Manny's fight when he could have waited after the fight and challenged Manny. Now we all have to wait for a year before we see a Pacquiao/Meaweather Jr. fight.
It was more like Floyd took the easy fight when he could've waited one more day after the Pacquiao/Hatton fight to challenge him. Instead Floyd announces a day before the fight that he's coming out of retirement. Talk about dodging Manny.
It has nothing to do with Floyd ducking Pac or him not wanting to fight Pac. Its about the money, plain and simple. If the money ain't right, Floyd don't fight. Especially when dealing with Bob Arum. Also, a fight against Marquez is definitely not "the easy fight". Marquez is better than Pac in my opinion, only thing is that Pac has the obvious power advantage and maybe a bit more speed. But Marquez has him beat in every other category.
Marquez is better but Pacquiao has power advantage and speed? What other category, looks? You're always an idiot when it comes to boxing.
JMM is a good defensive fighter. Usually guys like him tend to last longer. Pacman is usually about going at his opponent. I don't think anyone can say PBF took an easy fight. I think the JMM PBF fight will suck since they are both defensive fighters.
Uh, no he's not. Ring Generalship, Defense, Footwork, Accuracy, Efficiency, Adaptability, Chin, Stamina, Cornermen, Cutman, Work Ethic, Overall boxing IQ. If you think the only category besides speed and power left was looks, you shouldn't be throwing around "You're always an idiot when it comes to boxing."
That guy has no respect for Pacquiao's achievment. All his past posts on Manny are negative. That's the whole context of that phrase.
You bout the 2nd person that has said that, yet you obviously also the 2nd person that isn't paying attention to any of my posts. Never once have I bashed Manny for anything. Go back and read my **** before you open your mouth. Pacquiao is probably the only boxer you know anything about. Do your homework before you talk, son.
You're a contributing member grandpa, why don't you pull up all pacquiao threads and we'll see who's not doing his homework here.
